    Some Hoover Vault Finds...

This model (both metal and plastic) was the first to offer the consumer a type A bag that filled from the top instead of the bottom. It was much easier to change and held more dirt. It also offered more surface area for filtration. Today, you can get the really good bags from 3M. Note the early...

    Some Hoover Vault Finds...

This is the base. I am not a huge fan of the plastic chasis, however they do clean as well as a metal chasis model. I just do not like the "hollow" sound that comes from the plastic. I am sure that it was a cost and weight reduction on the part of the Hoover Company. Note the metal fan chamber...

Here is the U4107-001. It was the first plastic chasis version built in Nov. 1978. --Tom

    Hoover UK Floorcare 1969

Seamus... Thanks for the information. Actually, I would love to have any of the "cylinder" type cleaners from the UK. They seemed so well built. The 417 was very similar to our "Holiday" cleaner. We only got one model in the mid 1950s and it was then discontinued in favor of the Constellation...

    Hoover UK Floorcare 1969

Thanks for posting the 1969 line of UK cleaners. I just have one question. Where do I put my order in for a 417G? I just love that design. I noticed too that all of the UK cleaners came with the very good Ultraflex hose. Here in the US we mostly got the cheap Tufflex hose that did not give like...

    Hover convertible model 719

Robert... Well done! I know that you will enjoy that 719 for many years to come. I see that the rivet issue was solved. Congrats on a fine job. Thanks for sharing your success with all of us. Dave... Yes, you have the correct info as far as I know. I like the one piece handle. They do not...

    Hoover model 719 rivets

You will have to use a drill to drill out the old rivets. I would buy some pop rivets and just try them out. You may have to buy a few packs of them to find the right size. They are not that expensive. I can't wait to see the photos! --Tom

    Hover convertible model 719

The colors were seal griege light for the handle, bail, and base. Delft Blue was used for the bumper, hood, bag, and handle grip. Seal Griege medium was used for the cord. There are several variations on this model which I won't get into. Looks like you have your work cut out for you! The...

    Hover convertible model 719

This is an all original model 719. It was built from Dec. 1968 to November 1971. It was a "B" line cleaner as the 1070 was the top of the line Convertible. This is one of my favorite machines as it is the one that I grew up with. I wish that I had my mom's cleaner. This one was a gift from Mike...

some more of my colloction at my vac shop

Chris... Thanks for taking the time to post the photos of your shop! You have some very nice pieces in there. I am very impressed. It will take me days to look over all of the photos. I seem to see something new everytime I look over them again and again. I agree with Terry...the next...

    Some Hoover Vault Finds...

This one has no writing on the bag jacket. I guess that this one must have been a mid line model. It uses the bottom fill type C bags as the top fill design was not introduced until 1977.

Mark... Thanks for your appology. I appreciate it. Vibrabeat is one of my closest friends and a very honest and nice person. He was just coming to my defense. I do hope that you hold nothing against him. This summer at the vacuum convention, if you can make it, he will be holding an open house...
