    My Perfect Canister Bags Arrived!!

I have to admit something here...I too use and love a model 1205 Lux. It is so smooth and quiet. It has great suction and I only use it on my wood and tile floor. My good friend, Jimmy, (vibrabeat) who I have known for years gave it to me. It was his mother's cleaner. She did not particularly...

    Dynamatic???

Actually no...John sent me the cover to an Australian Dynamatic and I attached it to an extra model 1120 DAM. At first look, it appears to be a Dynamatic. It still had the 1120 bottom plate and the US version cord and of course the US version of the dial. I really like the way this turned out...

    Hoover 63 Blue & Gray serial A11...

The model 62 is beige with the blue trim. The model 63 is grey/blue with the blue trim. The 62 had a handle grip and used the "Handisac" type W bags no longer available versus the 63 that used the C bags. The 63 also used a shorter handle and no grip but offered a full wrap around bumper. The 62...

    I can't believe it!

The little 115 was very popular! It ran from 1948 to 1953. What color is yours. The early ones were a dark brown, then light brown same finish, then light brown smooth finish. They made TONS of them as they sold in the $50 range. With only a 10 inch agitator it was really a second machine or one...

I just got my Hoover 35 Convertible Special

Pat... Congrats on the 35. I know how badly you wanted one of those. The vinyl bags do get stiff with age. I would only use some hot water and some gentle detergent on it. It will make it pliable and then you can shape it the way you want. So that it will inflate better for instance. Hang it up...

    Hoover 63 Blue & Gray serial A11...

Congrats on your Hoover find. These machines (I call them the "60 series") are built like tanks. They were built from 1953 to 1956 and Hoover made TONS of them. There are plenty out there still working faithfully in homes across the country. Yours seems to have led a well cared for life. Thanks...

    Hoover Model 475

Louis... It is still a 475 no matter if it is rebuilt or not. It should say that on the tag on the top of the machine. That is so neat that it was built before the war. These were fairly popular at the time. Congrats on the nice find! --Tom

    Hoover Model 475

Louis... You have a 475 Special. This one was rebuilt by the Hoover Company. It should have a month and a year (last two digits) as to when it was refurbished. The 475 was the cheaper comanion to the 825 in 1935-36. It was replaced by the 25. Yours is in outstanding condition. The "specials"...

A great gift from a great friend!

Jack... The Connie in the ad is a model 84 and it was produced from 1956-1957 and changed for 1957 and 1958 as the 84B. The 84 had a flip bottom base like the 82. The blue 82 did not float. The pink (actually a mullberry color) one did float. The 84B got the "fixed" base like your blue machine...

A great gift from a great friend!

Jack... Congrats on the beautiful 822A. I really love the color on that machine. Is that the original plug and cord too? If so you have quite a find there and a truly generous friend. Happy Hoovering with your HOVER vacuum! --Tom

    help!! cleaning a plastic hood

On Convertible hoods, I wash the hoods first in detergent or spray them down (if they are not too dirty) with windex. Then a nice quick coat of Brasso. I never let the Brasso dry but remove it while it is still wet. I usually repeat the Brasso several times until the desired shine is found. The...

I have to thank Seamus for the plug adapter for these machines. Not only did he send me the adapter but also a pack of UK Hoover bags and a package each of belts.
