Louis... It is still a 475 no matter if it is rebuilt or not. It should say that on the tag on the top of the machine. That is so neat that it was built before the war. These were fairly popular at the time. Congrats on the nice find! --Tom

Louis... You have a 475 Special. This one was rebuilt by the Hoover Company. It should have a month and a year (last two digits) as to when it was refurbished. The 475 was the cheaper comanion to the 825 in 1935-36. It was replaced by the 25. Yours is in outstanding condition. The "specials"...

Jack... The Connie in the ad is a model 84 and it was produced from 1956-1957 and changed for 1957 and 1958 as the 84B. The 84 had a flip bottom base like the 82. The blue 82 did not float. The pink (actually a mullberry color) one did float. The 84B got the "fixed" base like your blue machine...
