My new toy - Patriot P4 Hybrid

I ordered a Patriot through Kyle (cleanairhybrid) and it arrived today. I got the hybrid machine with the touch screen just because when I buy something I like all the options :-) I chose the Sebo ET-1 powerhead rather than the Wessel Werk as I had a Miele Capricorn with the Wessel Werk so I...

    Any Aerus News?

Brian, I have a Guardian Platinum and have always disliked the bulky gas pump style hose handle that Aerus has used. I find even with the green roller brush that the power nozzle is less effective that many others. The power nozzle on my Filter Queen grooms the carpet better than the Guardian...

    Wessell Werk ebk 340

Sometimes the friction fit wands for my Rainbow D also get stuck together. I hold the wands parallel to the carpet, about shoulder height and then let the wands fall to the carpet. That usually loosens them so that I can get them apart. Gary

Link to a vintage small appliance repair forum

Francois, Besides knowing everything there is to know about washing machines, the guys on the washer site know everything there is to know about small appliances as many of them collect them as well. They should be able to help with anything you need. Gary

Sealed, In the Box, Never Used, Sunbeam Mixmaster 1-80

Oldsuck, Yes I am going to use the mixer. I don't believe in getting an appliance and then just letting it sit on display forever. Barry, It seems like Sunbeam made many variations of the chrome Mixmaster. I have seen several just looking on Ebay. Gary

Sealed, In the Box, Never Used, Sunbeam Mixmaster 1-80

The Sunbeam Mixer is great for beating batters and adding air to batters to make them light and fluffy. I have had a couple of different KitchenAids and a Cuisinart but currently have a similiar Sunbeam Mixmaster and a Bosch Universal Plus ....now that machine is a work horse and can knead...

Sealed, In the Box, Never Used, Sunbeam Mixmaster 1-80

Thanks everyone. I have a similiar model (you can see part of it in the background in the last pic) but not in quite as new condition as this one. I'm guessing it probably cost around $100 in the early 70s which would be over $600 in today's value. My mom had the harvest gold version with...

Sealed, In the Box, Never Used, Sunbeam Mixmaster 1-80

I posted this on AW.org but thought I would post here also. Thank you to Martin (Yogitunes) for sending me this Sunbeam Mixer that he grabbed from an 1800 Victorian home/funeral parlour that is going to be demolished. The mixer was in one of the pantries, purchased from a store that closed in...

The GE and Premier Electric Vacuum Cleaner line up. 😊

I just checked out that Leave it to Beaver episode...interesting how the hose is being used backwards....the curved end attached to the vacuum body and the straight end into the wands. Gary

What vacuums do/did your parents or grandparents use?

When my mom got married in 1954, she got a Bell Tower vacuum similiar to the one in the pic (courtesy of Doug Smith's vac site). She then got a Filter Queen a couple years later and gave the Bell Tower to her mom. In the mid to late 60s my mom bought her mom a Hoover Constellation and a Hoover...
