I have lived with a Kirby for a year. The Kenmore is the beast of burden with a full bag always, so after almost 6 months I was wondering what the Kirby had picked up.The bag seemed pretty full, almost to the line where it says to change it.

The Ambassador. One last picture. I am not a big fan of cannister vacs. I find they are hard on my back. This vacuum has a really long wand, it is taller than the handle of the Kirby. I found it really easy to use. I would think a short person would find it uncomfortable.

I will put it all back together tomorrow. I think the vacuum just needs a hinge and it will be fine, but the hose is toast. I noticed all day it kept get more bulges in it and there are some weak spots. I think that black stuff coming out is the inside of the hose. I probably didn't help things...

Too far gone? I tried putting the hose on the port, still no air coming out. Tried it on the vacuum, a big slurp and it started to suck in air! Quite a nasty clog.

Too far gone? I tried to take the handle off the hose, wouldn't come off. Next I tried the broom handle thing and found where the clog was.

Too far gone? I took a bent clothes hanger to the hose and knocked out some wood fibers? The black grit almost looks like the stuff on shingles. I ended up cutting my finger so I moved on to using the shop vac.

To far gone? Is this the piece that is not contacting? Can it be fixed or replaced or just have to live with duct tape on it? There is still one problem, no suction at all from the hose. It could be blocked. Any ideas how to clean out a hose? If it was a straight hose I would put a butter knife...

Too far gone? I plugged the vacuum in again and tried it, nothing. The idea of the something not contacting seemed like the problem. I sat the Lux and it's butt, pushed down on the top and tried again. IT WORKS! And really quiet!

Too far gone? I started playing with the Lux again this morning. I tried out the powerhead. I never knew vacuums were so interchangeable. It worked just fine hooked up to the Kenmore. I like it, it is really quiet.

One more shot. Dave you are more than welcome to the Ambassador. You just give me your big brown Hoover and we will call it even. I am not going to give up yet. I want to hear this thing roar.

Thank you Dave for your help. I took all the duct tape off and it wasn't sticky at all. The tape must be really fresh or really old. Just some bulges.

Too far gone? The bottom. Should I just toss it? I have never used a Lux and was pretty excited. I like how easy it is to carry. I like the L shaped powerhead too.
