    Hoover Constellation Curb Find!

A good friend found mine for me. One of the very few Hoover memories from my childhood.

    Kirby Midel 3C , 2 versions exist.

So happy I was able to help you with the Vacuette Electric and the 1C, along with the 3C box and tools and book. We took great care in packing them up for the long trip from MO to CA. You are definitely the "Kirby King".

compact electra c9 yellow ebay 1400$

I sold my gold Compact a few weeks ago at the Vacuum Museum Sale for $800. People really want those old ones. I took all the vacs I've been saving new in box for when I retire and have recently taken them out of the boxes, thrown away the box, and have started using my NIB machines. Can't put...

Wanted: Fantom Fury owners manual and many other goodies

I just sold my entire Fantom collection (4 machines, all spare parts, volumes of printed materials) this past weekend at the Vacuum Cleaner Museum closing sale. He also got my Dry Tech (Dyson designed) carpet machine from Fantom (I threw it in for free). Wish I had known you were looking...

    Riccar Spirit

I'm surprised Tacony is still in business.

What is the “What Were They Thinking?!” Product of the vacuum world?

In my opinion, the Tandem-Air line of vacuums from Tacony are horrible. For many reasons. For me, the nail on the head happened when a tandem-air Radiance from the assembly line caught on fire as they were testing it before boxing at the factory. I have video of the flaming monster being...

Another person asking what vacuum to buy...

The Bernina motor and the new Air-Way motor are the same. Depending upon how much profit a vac shop wants to make off you, the motor could be replaced inexpensively enough that you should do it. If you were near me, I'd sell you a new motor and do the labor to replace it for less than $150

    General Electric Vacuum Attachments

In preparing for my upcoming retirement from the vacuum business, I have been throwing all the old stuff away. I'm not spending an hour on eBay to sell new Hoover 700 brush strips for $4. Or old Lux attachments for a few dollars. Scrap the metal ones and toss the plastic ones. I have less...

    Major smorgusboard of machines available!

The machines with the repair tag around the handle must be 'trade-ins' on a new machine. I have that many in one year, if not more. The difference is I take them to the tip. Once I have ten (about two weeks worth), we strip them for cords and throw them away. They were too expensive a repair...

    Clean Obsessed "Electrolux"

Metropolitan never figured out how to diffuse the exhaust on their tank type vacuum. They do use a very powerful motor (used to be a Lamb motor), they do have a hepa pre-motor filter, and they do clean well.

Need advice on which vacuum to purchase next

There's a wonderful Canadian vacuum company called Johnny Vac (www.johnnyvac.com) that sells some great vacuums. No customs. I have sold a good number of machines from Johnny Vac and I'm quite pleased with the products. You'll easily be able to find a vacuum that fits your budget, and you'll...

    Clean Obsessed "Electrolux"

I agree about the metal bodied models. HEPA disposable bags is the only filtration upgrade I'd make. I don't (and have never) cared about carbon brush dust or particles. In the long run, people are not buying them anyway. Upright and canister vacuums are dinosaurs. People rip out their...

    Clean Obsessed "Electrolux"

Alex: Truth be told, we don't sell many canisters today. Even though people are ripping up their carpet for hard floors, which a canister cleans best. Uprights are king today - but I do convince a number of upright customers to buy canisters. Really the only thing I care about is if the...

    Clean Obsessed "Electrolux"

Thank goodness I don't live in an area populated with all these strange machines like Miele and Sebo. I sure don't want to fix them. Sold a pack of Miele bags for the first time in five years. I told her to buy the other pack since she was the only person who has a Miele in our area. Well...

Kirby R model -- My Sales Experience

$18,000? I'm raising the sale prices on my vintage Kirbys TODAY! My Vacuette Electric, Scott & Fetzer, and 1C should go for Fortunes. Huge boost to my retirement fund.

    Clean Obsessed "Electrolux"

Since I started this thread several years ago now, I have sold more than 100 Clean Obsessed "Electrolux" models. For me, the profit is decent for a decent vacuum. Many customers buy them because of sentiment from their childhood. Some buy them because of the design. Some buy them because I...

Kirby R model -- My Sales Experience

So you bought it to flip it. Nice. There's a kid (teenager) who lusts over those old ones and will pay a fortune for one. The R series was a Retail only model. No door-to-door sales. That's why it's missing the sani-emptor, the portable handle, and many other features that made the...

    Kirby 50th anniversary ?

"Sanitronic" was a word invented by Kirby's marketing department. You must always understand that marketing departments buy ALL their competitors' products, while the engineers sit around talking about how their machines are better and denigrating the competition. The copper color had already...
