    Central vacuum recommendations.

I would strongly suggest a True Seal Hepa bagged unit. Dumping a year's worth of dirt into a trash can results in huge clouds of dirt for you to breath-in. Ask me how I know! Evan Rogers at The Vac Shack and Owen Perkins at Just Central Vacuums in Naperville installed my Modern Day S5 several...

    Electrolux xxx Bearings

Ball bearings are easy to repack with grease, especially the really well made ones as used on the Lux. Also, the fans (revolving) will need washed and the turbine curves cleaned, which will make it run smooth and quiet again. I would definitely make it right and be able to enjoy it for many...

Rainbow d4c - was loud before but got less noisy and electrical burn smell

Armatures and carbon brushes are still available on eBay. Like Jake said, it's not a difficult repair. There are three ball bearings (all the same part number), but only the bottom and middle bearing will likely need to be replaced. The very upper bearing by the carbons rarely needs more than...

The brand new Delphin from Germany

I've had another week to use it. The water basin holds the same 2 quarts of water that the Rbow does. It definitely takes a couple of rinses to get it clean. However, with no latches to break it definitely feels solid. The basin itself is thick like the D2 Rbows. I've already dropped it...

    Central vacuum recommendations.

Owen Perkins installed a silent master, with two 3-fan Motors in my house. They did not yet have the true seal HEPA bags. He then installed a commercial vac-u-flo. I got a sinus infection from emptying it, so we went back to the silent master which now has true seal HEPA bags. It's the best...

What vacuums have you seen in movies?

Samantha and her Hoover dial a matic. The very first version. Huge thanks to John Gregory for a brand new set of attachments that he sent me.

What vacuums have you seen in movies?

The props department on "the marvelous Mrs. Maisel" borrowed my Hoover Lark. It appears in the second from the last episode, and has its own storyline. Glad to have gotten it back, and it now hangs in the Vacuum Cleaner Museum. I look at it every day when I walk to the back door.

What vacuums have you seen in movies?

How could we ever forget the general electric swivel top on "leave it to Beaver". I sure do love mine. why do they always connect the hose backwards?

Rainbow d4c - was loud before but got less noisy and electrical burn smell

Bet the commutator is burned out. That's what happens when bearings are not repacked and motor runs a while.

    Electrolux xxx not turning on

Check continuity through the cord. Also check the carbon brushes as well as the commutator for wear. That's an OLD motor. My model XXX's all needed to be completely rebuilt when I got them, which I did. Also check the two ball bearings, they may be in need of grease.

    $ $ Wanted $ $ - Scott & Fetzer Upright Vacuum

I have the first version from 1928. Someone will want to buy it someday.

The brand new Delphin from Germany

They made it for the United States voltage of 120. It is not running on anything other than standard American current.

Dream machine acquired - Riccar Tandem Air

Love the purple carpet in that Vacuum Shop. The owner must have been awesome when he installed that rug almost 20 years ago. Congratulations on your new machine.

The brand new Delphin from Germany

Brushless motor. About 80 inches of lift. Wonderful power nozzle. Unique emptying. Greg Palmer stopped by on his way to the V.C.C.C. convention. We laughed, ate, and shared many vacuums. This is the brand new (literally) Delphin vacuum from Germany.

    VCCC convention June 20th

I'll see Greg P. from Syracuse today. He's bringing machines, as well as picking up 'one of a kind' cleaners to show off at the VCCC Convention. Ask to see his brand-new 'water vac'.

    The new Air-Way Ultra Kleen

I wouldn't buy a Tacony product if my life depended on it. The Air-Way machines are just fine. I can show the history of it. No one has heard of it. And they can't shop it on Amazon. Normal people (not vac collectors) have no trouble buying the Air-Way. They will buy what I tell them to...

    Progress Vacuum Cleaner Inquiry

Progress was last made in Jackson, MI. Emme Hoppe and her husband owned it. When he died, they sold it to Eureka, and started Filtex in California. Filtex was door to door just like Progress, they demonstrated in your home. The Filtex is almost identical to the Progress.

    New Kirby model !!

People have asked to see the back of the new Platinum. I will say, after vacuuming my home with it this past weekend, the transmission is silent and so smooth. Even more 'gentle' with regard to shifting, then even the Avalir 2.
