    FilterQueen Curiosity

Filter Queen I have several majestics but my favorite Filter Queen is my old school chocolate brown one. I think it feels much sturdier than the newer ones and the dual stage motor is very powerful while being relatively quiet and pleasant to the ear while running. As noted if you have...

    Oreck Dutchtech Bag Holder

Picked up an Oreck Dutchtech, however the bag carrier is missing. The part seems to be NLA, any suggestions on rigging one up?

    Uprights with bare floor attachments

Just my opinion but I would say most uprights now don’t include a floor brush because most consumers don’t use them. Using a floor brush with an upright is cumbersome. Personally I don’t like to sweep, I’d rather vacuum my bare floors but I’m guessing I’m in the minority and most consumers...

    Rainbow E2 Black

Well I finally lucked out and found a 2 speed rainbow for a decent price. I started with my D3, then upgraded to a D4SE PE, then a single speed E series. All have been great machines but I wanted to have the air purify mode as I have bad allergies and sinus problems. Seen one listed on Facebook...

    Tristar CS melted motor

Acquired a TriStar CS recently only to get it home and find out the motor had overheated and melted the filter cover to the fan casing and deformed the motor mount. The actual motor does turn freely by hand and runs, but somethings not quite right with it. Is it worth it to buy a new motor (I...

    Electrolux 1205 Score

1205 Love my 1205, was one of the first vacuums I ever had. If you don’t have a newer vinyl hose it probably would be worth getting one. While the older braided hoses look very nice they do tend to leak air badly as it ages. You can keep the original for show and actually vacuum with the vinyl...

    Rainbow E series attachments

I recently acquired a single speed E series, this will probably become a daily driver and I would to get at least the basic attachments for it. If anyone has a set of OEM attachments, like the upholstery tool, dusting brush, floor brush and attachment caddy I would take it off your hands! Cameron

The first Electrolux I ever saw..

1205 The 1205 was also my first experience with an Electrolux. I was very young, about middle school age when I got it. It came from a garage sale in town...was in a box marked free. Had all the attachments and everything worked, it was just clogged in the power nozzle. My family was very...

    D4 SE PE power switch.

Thanks! Got everything buttoned back up and ready to go! It is worth mentioning that on the old switch anyways polarity matters with the PN receptacle. On the first go around the pn receptacle remained energized when the switch was off. Switching the wires around solved the problem...

    D4 SE PE power switch.

I suspected the power switch on my D4 of being bad, when I pulled it out though I did find another loose wire. I made a mistake though and didn’t document which wires go where. Looking online reveals that the replacement switch is different and wiring instructions are for the new one and not the...

    Sharp Twin Energy

Picked up as cool looking sharp twin energy the other day. Never seen a “supercharged” vacuum before lol. Does seem to have strong suction. This must be a fairly TOL unit, it has a brush roll shirt off, variable power control as well as a separate floor and attachment hose with diverter. The...

Strangest or worst clog found in vacuum

Clogs Found a sock once in the diverter of an upright Sharp. Had to trash that one because the motor overheated and it warped the housing and no longer airtight. The twin energy I just found a few days ago had some kind of plastic bracket jammed in the attachment hose. Had to break it apart...

    Rainbow D4 Power Switch

My D4 just up and stopped worked one day. I’m hoping it’s just a loose or bad wire. I cant seem to figure out how to the power switch out to test the cord and other individual wires. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Cam

    Black Oreck XL

Acquired a somewhat unusual Oreck model the other day. It’s all black with the helping hand model, but a foot mounted on/off switch. Otherwise pretty standard fair for an Oreck. Last owner used the inside of the cloth bag to store extra paper bags instead of the pocket on the back of it. Had a...

    Filter Queen 70th Anniversary (112a, 7.6 Amps)

Getting the black top off... I don’t remember exactly but you need to take the top off (to access the motor). Under the exhaust cap there are some screws there may be a few more along the way. Once you have the top off you can see the screws that hold the handle on, take those out and the...

    Windsor S12 and dubious repairs

Well that sensor is deep in the neck....I’m not sure how one would adjust it, especially with it running you can barely get to it with the neck out. In any case I cleaned it all out and got the fuzz out. Getting all the bits back together was a chore but everything finally went back together...

    D4 fan assembly

Well the deed is done finally. I am really quite surprised at the difference my D3 and this. They made a lot of updates and it’s a really nice machine to, especially now with brand new bearings! Now to keep my eyes out for a 2 speed E series on the cheap!

    Rainbow Score!

What a great score! I paid quite a bit more for my SE that I’m in the process of rebuilding now. I’d love to find an E series machine but every one I’ve found is going for 100s of dollars. Enjoy!

    D4 fan assembly

Tore into the power nozzle tonight. Unlike the power unit this was a marvel of simplicity to take apart. Had a couple of interesting surprises in it, mainly enough fluff to knit a sweater and Kirby belt.

    D4 fan assembly

Thank you Electroluxxxx for the offer with parts, I did already have an order placed. If you are able to source parts for a D2 I would take the assistance when I get around to rebuilding it though! For my D4 I ordered the flange, flange gasket, flange screws, the three bearings, and new fan...
