    DC17 thoughts

I’ve had this DC17 for a while, haven’t really used it since it needed some work. I had some time so I pulled it out and got it going. I have to say I was really surprised at how much crud it dug up. The question is with its very aggressive brush bar how much was crud and how much was my...

    Nilfisk power nozzle has arrived.

I didn’t seem to find much more information about this machine, could you post some more pictures and descriptions of it? What do you like about it so much? I know Nilfisk makes commercial machines and often very high filtration machines but I don’t think I’ve ever used one.

My Cream and Brown Henry with his new face!

I love Henry’s they are so cute. I have a toy one, but I’ve been on the look out for a real one. Glad you fixed him up, even if his eyes are little uneven🤣🤣

    Eureka Rotomatic PN

One of the screw holes for the motor broke. Under tension with the belt on the motor sits crooked now and I don’t want to break it any further. Is there a clever way to fix this?

    Trash find Cleartrack

This is actually my 2nd clear track, I got my 1st one at a thrift shop several years ago. It also was missing the filter tray. I ordered the filter tray and a maintenance kit which included a foam filter, 5 micro filters and 3 belts from the Workhorse site. They sell both new and refurbished...

    Trash find Cleartrack

I was actually surprised by the bisselI, I do like the color with the splash of green and it picked up a surprising amount of soil. From what I understand about the Amway it was actually manufactured by bissell for Amway using stolen patents from James Dyson. It is a very solid well built...

    Trash find Cleartrack

I’ve never picked up a vacuum out of the trash before but the other day I was driving past the dumpster in my apartment complex and I noticed that there where two vacuums sitting by the dumpster, one of which I recognized as an Amway Cleartrack. I drove back around rescued them both. The other...

    Eureka Excalibur Canister 6975

I wonder if the American versions came with a floor brush and wands originally, it still has the parking clip on the side but the PN wands do not have the clip, though it’s a moot point since it will stand up on its own.

    Kenmore Progressive Canister

There is an additional shoe that you can put on the end of the nozzle, you can also take the entire contraption off. Also shown is the regular floor brush and the power mate. I have to say this is the first vacuum that I’ve ever had to look the directions up to figure out how to work the...

    Kenmore Progressive Canister

Here is the handle though with the integrated brush, you can extend or retract them.

    Kenmore Progressive Canister

I picked up this Kenmore progressive canister here recently. It’s pretty standard fair Kenmore/Panasonic other than it has an unusual integrated attachment setup. Here is the main unit, the unit is almost in mint condition other than the wheels on the PN are missing.

    Eureka Excalibur Canister 6975

This is similar to my Europa canister. I believe it was also a European canister married to the world vac PN. The motor filter is also very large, basically the entire back wall of the bag chamber though it takes regular sized bags. Its kinda odd that they marketed the canister as a Quiet Kleen...

Saw a Kenmore Progressive at Goodwill Today and Walked Away

It’s always crazy how different goodwill stores price their products. $25 for a vacuum that you can’t use as is is too much. I’ve seen goodwills try and sell Dysons for over $100 or cheap plastic vacuums for almost what they cost new. On the other hand I paid $19.99 for a single speed rainbow...

    Rainbow E2 Black hose

I think Rainbow could be more clear about the issue. I did reread the owners manual more carefully, it gives the same message printed on the handle in the safety information and it has the same symbol that's on the hose on the page that identifies all the parts. Otherwise there are no...

    Rainbow E2 Black hose

Well after stirring up a good debate I guess I could have answered my own question had I just read a little more carefully. Thinking that maybe it was a non genuine hose I inspected it for the Rainbow/Rexair name or any insignia. Whilst looking for that I did see the fine print on the handle...

    Rainbow E2 Black hose

Is the electric hose on the E2 black waterproof? I was under the impression that somewhere along in the E series machines they stopped making a wet hose and a dry hose and made the main hose double insulated. This would have corresponded with the electrified AquaMate. I noticed this symbol on...

    I did the Oreck challenge

Oreck's generally do have pretty soft bristles so it's not a huge surprise that your Sebo would pick up more carpet fluff. I guess I haven't really subjectively tested any my Orecks, but the bags seem to fill quite quickly when I use them. I sometimes peek in afterwards and it always seems to...

    2 green Hoover’s for a green rug.

I don’t know if it has a French cousin, but the tag says built in the USA. Any tips for a hose that’s starting to wear near the nozzle?

    2 green Hoover’s for a green rug.

I was able to stop at my storage unit today and get a few toys to put back in the rotation. Anyways that green rug pictured is a fairly recent acquisition and it’s a beast to vacuum. It’s a very long thick pile and most vacuums go through it like a wheelbarrow full of bricks. So what better...

    Recently acquired Fairfax

I have the newer black "A Touch of Class" Fairfax. The suction unit is very very powerful, though the Wessel Werk PN leaves a bit to be desired. The Eureka PN on yours will be a great performer. I'm guessing it has a VGII? Mine has a Lamb dual stage full bypass motor, I"m guessing yours has...
