    My latest eBay purchase

Thanks Fred! That's a beauty you got there!  I bought a C2 almost a year ago, and it came with a complete set of attachments, except it has no provisions for a power nozzle.  This new one does, and I'll share the attachments from my first one with it.  I'm glad I have them because for some...

    My latest eBay purchase

It's a mid 70's Compact Electra, and it looks super clean.  Has a power nozzle connection, but a standard hose and floor tool.  Now all I need is to find an electric hose and power nozzle and I'll be good to go.  I already have a full set of original attachments...

I run Mavericks on my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro.  Only run Windows in a VM on the rare occasion I need to do something for work, and can't do it in a native OS X application.

    B. C. is one of my favorite comics.

Not trying to make any kind of commentary.  Just thought it was funny, and odd that they would name a brand. http://news.yahoo.com/comics/b-c--slideshow/b-c--comic-strip-20140416-crbc-gif-050140153.html?soc_src=unv-sh-comic

    Still using XP?

I haven't run XP in years I skipped Vista and went directly to Windows 7.  Been perfectly happy with it.  I also run Windows 8.1 Pro, and with the update that came out yesterday, it is much better now too.  Of course, I own strictly Mac hardware now, and on the rare occasion I need to run...

Differences in Kirby Heritage I (1981 to 1983)

I sold the Heritage when it first came out.  The first run did have a cloth fill tube, as opposed to the plastic one.  I think the original idea was that with the Tradition, the plastic tube was a point of failure.  I seem to remember replacing a lot of them under warranty because they were...

Mac Pro upgrade - ran into a problem

Well, I upgraded the processors in my Mac Pro last Saturday to two 5355 quad cores.  Before doing that, I upgraded the firmware and my machine now reports that it is a 2,1 instead of a 1,1.  Processors went in fine, and machine recognizes them and all eight cores.  This brings my final...

Kirby D 50 San Handy Butler/ What color was orig electric cord?

Careful buying Handi Butlers off eBay I have bought 3, and they all looked like they had never been used.  When they arrived, they all had been stored with the belt stretched out on the belt lifter.  This caused the belts to become permanently stretched, and rendered them totally useless. ...

    Hoover Dail A Matic Day

Even the non self propelled models weigh a ton.  No wonder so many of them have wobbly handle syndrome from people trying to carry them from the handle.

    Old "Stink Bombs"

I think the Crystalator was discontinued during the Tradition's run.  It was still called a cystalator in the Classic III's manual, but was called an air intake nozzel in the Traditions manual.

    Magnavox stereo repair

Good morning/afternoon all.  I have an early 70's  Magnavox Astro Sonic console stereo that needs the amp/tuner repaired.  The changer works great, and it plays, but the left channel is weak, and I think it is about time to just have it completely re-capped.  Does anyone repair vintage...

    Arlee finds a coffee pot

I'm watching eBay for either a Presto SuperSpeed or a Hoover percolator.  The Presto is the one my family had when I was growing up, and it makes good coffee.  The Hoover percolator is a re-badged Presto, so I would be happy with either one of them.
