    Windows 10 beta

Good afternoon all, I've been running the beta for Microsofts new version of Windows since it became available in beta, and I have to say that so far it has been a very stable system, and it looks really good too. Downloading the latest build now that will introduce Cortana (MS answer to...

    Question for the Kirby experts.

Agreed Clear silicone sealer works the best, like the kind used to seal glass aquariums.

Kirby Tradition found at Goodwill today

Wow. Nice Tradition. It's hard to think of the Tradition as being a vintage machine because I sold that model new when I was with Kirby. It literally seems like yesterday. Where does the time go?

    My new coffee pot

My percolator arrived And I'm a little disappointed The seller's pictures weren't totally accurate. The lid looks like the leaning tower of Pisa. It didn't get dented in shipping because the box was undamaged. I had multiple choices between the Presto Super Speed and the Hoover variant, but...

    Surprised at a Miele hose!!

I agree John I recently picked up a Miele with a power nozzle at a thrift store, and couldn't believe how cheap the hose was. It's a great cleaner, but I wonder how long the hose will last.

    My new coffee pot

I remember when I was a kid, my grandmother had a Presto Super Speed electric percolator.  I am a coffee drinker, and I have a Keurig that I love, but sometimes I want to make a pot instead of one cup at a time.  I wanted a Presto, like my grandmother's, and found this one on eBay.  It's a...

    Filter Queen and Tristar

I like both I have both, a Filter Queen and a Compact, and I'm happy with either one. I do need a set of wands, an external power nozzle cord and straps for the Compact's power nozzle though. It's basically a Eureka Roto-Matic power nozzle with a Compact decal on it.

    My 2006 Mac Pro

Yes I'm running Windows 10 Beta in a VM on my Mac Pro. It runs very well, and has the best of Windows 7 and Windows 8.X all rolled into one. So far it's very stable and all my apps are working fine so far.

    My 2006 Mac Pro

Hi Davey! It's really nice to hear from you. I too had a horrible time with Vista. Seems that if it came pre-installed on a PC, it was better than installing it from scratch, since the manufacturer had to insure it worked. I installed Windows 7 and it has run great. What apps are you running...

    My 2006 Mac Pro

I like Windows 8.1 It's a good OS, but I've moved to Windows 10 Tech Preview. So far, it's what Windows 8 should have been. I did install a 128 GB SSD, but I paired it with a 1 TB HDD to make a Fusion drive. Yosemite is a great OS too. I love the flexibility of running OS X and Windows side...

    My 2006 Mac Pro

This is my dual monitor setup on my Mac Pro 1,1. OS X on left, and Windows on the right. Best of both worlds on one machine. Running current versions of both OSes, as well as current apps. Not bad for a machine that's 8 years old. And it's fast too. 15 - 20 seconds max boot time. Windows is...

    WWII Navy ships protractor

Hey Everyone, I bought one of these from a friend last night, and I think it was from a Navy ship. It has a plaque on the case dated 1941, so I'm guessing WWII era. I found one on eBay that is identical to it. It is item number 331357579418. Have you ever seen or used one of these before?[this...

    Christmas Shopping At Sears

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook, and I thought I'd share it: Subject: Christmas Shopping @ Sears Holiday shopping this year. I know I needed this reminder, since Sears isn't always my first choice. It's amazing when you think of how long these wars have lasted and Sears...
