TV Commercial - 1973 Launch of Eureka Power Teams

What a hoot! I laughed out loud! I love the exaggeration of how bad the early cleaners were.   Joel

    who likes/collects clocks?

I see this thread is still active, so . . . . . . here are images of four of my other cuckoo clocks (I have a total of six.) The traditional carved clocks (images 1 and 3) measure about 30" tall. Maytag142c, I love your grandfather clock! Tomorrow I'll post an image of my two.

Agitator bearings for my Hoover U4363-045

Repairman, amazed is the right word The original bearings were loose and felt rough, so I didn't try to do anything with them. The new bearings greatly reduced the noise level. Gone is the familiar "rough around the edges" growl I was hearing. I have always liked the sound of old Hoover...

    Any fan collectors on here

I did at one time At my peak I had about 75 fans of all brands and types. I only have a few vintage fans now, all of which are restored and I use. I was going to write more, but I don't want to hijack the thread.   Joel

    Happy Birthday Hoover Convertible

My childhood Hoover identified! So the Hoover Convertible I rescued from curbside at age 15 was a 65. That's the one I rewound the field coil in to restore low speed. Thanks for the images!   Joel

Agitator bearings for my Hoover U4363-045

Hello all,   Is the Hoover part number 43267002 the correct agitator bearing for my U4363-045? It looks correct in web images but my specific model isn't listed, just commercial uprights. The sheer number of models these fit gives me the impression that Hoover used (uses) them in everything...

    Royal Prince at Goodwill

I hope you bought it What a find at $5! I would spend much more for one in this condition, were I in the market.   Joel

    Oddball Kirby nozzle

Problem Solved! I'm happy to write that the seller made good - not that I had any doubt they would. After I sent them the above image, they wrote back that they don't open the boxes when they get these nozzles from the Kirby factory (although that probably will change now.) They declared this...

    Funny video

Oh, what a hoot! I love the part where it's coming after him and eats the table he's standing on. Then the inside view of all it's picked up.   Joel

    Roper Dryer has stopped working...

Many of today's washing machines do have brushed motors We once owned an Asko front-loader with a brushed motor and belt drive. But, I don't know of any dryers that use them. They have no need to reverse direction or run at different speeds.   The brushed motors from these washing machines...

    Sewing machines

My wife sews some She has a 221 that was missing the bobbin case and had a bad motor, which we took care of and then had it tuned up by a local store that specializes in FW's.  Then last year we passed a sewing store on an out-of-town trip, and their sign read "Used Baby Locks For Sale." What...

    Oddball Kirby nozzle

Could be . . .e The seller wrote that the factory assembled these nozzles from parts on-hand. So your explanation is reasonable. Thanks. Still need to know what brush roll is correct for this nozzle. Again, thanks. Joe

    Oddball Kirby nozzle

Hello everyone,   I recently purchase a new power nozzle for my recently-acquired Sentria II because while the original one works fine, it has deep scratches that are beyond my ability to remove and have the results look good. The new nozzle has the same part number as the original...

Impressive work It's looking great! Thanks for sharing.   Joel

    I thought I'd never do it, but . . .

I got it today! Oh, what a beast! I intentionally chose a Generation model because it looks so different from other uprights. The Tech Drive is way cool! I tried it out in the living room and one of my cats two rooms over ran away. By far it's my loudest vacuum of any type, but that's OK...

Kirby G7D burning through belts regardless of adjustment settings

Thanks to all for this thread I could very well have the same problem with my soon-to-arrive Sentria II, believing that belts with Kirby printed on them are genuine. I will make sure to get my belts from a reliable source.   Joel

Clean Obsessed bags in TriStar - YAY!

Hmm, I thought I posted this previously Apparently my original reply to Thevacomaticiec got lost in the ether, so I will paraphrase. You should be fine with your current bags and HEPA pre-motor filter, but the HEPA bags solve (at least for me) the problem of the vacuum losing suction as the bag...

Clean Obsessed bags in TriStar - YAY!

Where to buy these bags Amazon has them. Also, websites like www.evacuumstore.com has them or equivalents. I purchased mine from Amazon.

    1960s Electrolux USA Retail Sales

How rebuilt? I remember seeing the 30 and 60 for sale in Spiegel catalogs. Did Metropolitan completely rebuild the motors, or did they just clean them and replace bearings and brushes? If they guaranteed these cleaners, I don't see how they could be comfortable with anything less than a full...
