    Some Thoughts on Oreck Vacuums

I agree!! I like having a hose and tool but they don't have to be onboard, that's what canisters are for lol. I would most definitely prefer this to any of bagless plastivac junk they make today. And yes, for what they are, they're slightly overpriced, it a very "bare-bones" simple machine, but...

    Some Thoughts on Oreck Vacuums

I like it a lot so far! For what it is anyway, I know it's not a deep-cleaner by any means but it's good for quick clean ups in between and great for pet hair. I did take the bottom off to replace the brushroll but it doesn't seem old or brittle at in fact it's in Like New Condition pretty...

    My new Oreck XL100C

I picked this up on eBay a few days ago and I love it so far. I wanted to find one of the older style Orecks like the Classic which I remember seeing in commercials as a kid. I was amazed when I first unpacked it because of how good it looked, not a spec of dust anywhere and no scuffs either...

My Red Hoover Concept I Model U3317 from EBay!!!!

Thanks Marc!!;) The original U3317 was purchased from Keys Showroom in 1988 but I think the one I have now is from 1991. The Dial-A-Matics were bought from Riches in the 60s. I have a similar blue Dial-A-Matic now too. The originals got tossed a long time ago unfortunately. I love having all...

My Red Hoover Concept I Model U3317 from EBay!!!!

Thank you both MarcSchroeder & John Long!!! Marc, I'd love to ad a Concept II (especially one like that!) to my collection, I don't have any Concept IIs right now. Is the handle top on yours original or a replacement? I only ask because mine is burgundy like the rest of it. Also, does yours...

Dyson airblade is basically a virus catapult

Jmurray01, That last paragraph your post is one of the most accurate things I've read in a while, I couldn't have said it better myself. Why do people always seem to think they have to fix problems that didn't even exist to start with. Most of the time you'll find that traditional models of...

    Ok, dumb kirby question...

It's called the Emptor or Sani-Emptor You shouldn't have any trouble locating that part. I always hate seeing when people have changed older Kirbys to use paper bags, it cuts down on the air flow in addition to not looking right.

    New Kirby G4 craigslist find!

So sorry to hear your deal fell through I have fond memories of the G3 & G4 as well. Thankfully they are very easy to find. Greatvacs.com sell reconditioned G4s with attachments & warranties though. I have had great experiences from this site in the past, I bought a G5 from them years ago and...

    Latest vac- Kirby 512

That's a very nice find!! It reminds me of when I found my 516 in a thrift shop, complete with all the attachments, boxes, paperwork, etc. the only things not original on it are the bag and cord. They match though so it not that big of a deal to me.

    Sanitaire upright problems and recommendations

The Sanitaire Quiet Clean would definitely be a good choice! I've had mine for almost 2 years now and the only thing I've had to do to it literally is change the bag. It has seen ALOT of use too both in my house and other places. It's a very durable machine. It seems to filter air VERY well too...

    The new Senior range?

Well... It's no Convertible or 60 Series, but it certainly looks better than anything Hoover produces today. I'd love to see this actually go into production.

    Sanitaire upright problems and recommendations

I would suggest the Sanitaire Quiet-Kleen It's very durable, has a clean air motor, an onboard hose (with amazing suction!), and it has a suction only mode. I have had one of these for a while now for the maid to use and I've been very impressed with it actually. Another option might be the...

I'm a fan of the chunkier handle grip too, it allows you turn turn the PowerDrive off without having to hold the button down continuously.
