    Hoover Concept One U3311 question

Concept One Just to clarify a couple things Yes, the Concept was an American series, but they were offered for a brief time in the UK with 240v as a stopgap before the Turbomasters came out. They are not very common there though, and I believe they only sold one version there, and only for a...

Why don't Barber Shops and Hair Salons typically use vacuums?

Mine does. In each of the barbers booths, they have one of those handheld Shop Vacs, and they will use it to suck any loose hairs off of the person who just got their hair cut. For the floor, I think they will still use a broom though.

Yes I have actually, and I even used one. My parents bought one brand new in I think 2005? Dyson DC07 Animal. They were pretty popular here in the States.

    Hoover Concept One U3311 question

Hi all, A couple months ago, I picked up a Concept One from a local vac shop. It's what I believe a model U3311. It has a rust brown colored hood, with the cord rewind and Power Drive. Does anyone know anything about these models, like about how old it is, or whether it's a common or uncommon...

Tips and advice for selling vacuums on ebay

eBay My advice is this: Take lots of pictures and describe the machine to the best of your ability. Package the vacuum with bubble wrap, and also I would use packing peanuts.

Found this interesting little Hoover Ad

That's what I'm thinking too. Have people come in to look at furniture, and also casually mention the new Hoovers they have in stock. It's not a bad setup for the time really.

Wanted: Hoover Celebrity IV power head

Does anyone have one of these power heads for a Hoover Celebrity IV that they would be willing to part with? I just bought my Celebrity off of eBay, and the machine itself is in pretty decent shape, and runs great. My power head on the other hand, works, but not that well. Plus it was cracked by...

Searching For a New Vacuum for my Mother

Funny You Should Mention The Kenmore... When I was at Sears last, they had one of those Elite Crossovers sitting there as a former floor model that they were trying to sell. I think for something like ~$125. I'm going back there later today, I'll have to take a closer look at it.

    Is this Hoover rare?

This vacuum is what would have been known in England as the Hoover Junior. Definitely an uncommon machine, I have never seen one in person.

Searching For a New Vacuum for my Mother

Oreck She actually had an Oreck XL many years ago, and to be honest, I still don't quite understand why she got rid of it. A canister is probably not a terrible option either.

Searching For a New Vacuum for my Mother

Thanks Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I was very hesitant to suggest a bagless, because like many of you, I prefer a bagged system. I know the vast majority of the bagless models are usually cheap and flimsy, much like the Shark she has is. The Shark brand new wasn't exactly cheap either...

Searching For a New Vacuum for my Mother

Hi everyone, hoping to have a little help here. My mother's Shark is starting to get worn out. It's an earlier Rotator model. It's creaking like crazy, and I just discovered that the hose has 4 or 5 good sized holes in it. So I am looking to buy her something decent (I have always hated that...

Are there still retail stores that let you try out vacuums?

Sears The Sears I was in earlier had power strips mounted to the wall, in full view of the customer. Wide display of canisters and uprights. They also had floor models of some Kenmore's that were ready to be demonstrated.

    Hello, and a Decade 80

Hello all, this is my first post, and I have a vac to show with it! (Long time lurker though). I was perusing through Craigslist, when I saw this vac sitting there for sale. It was being offered by a local vac shop, and it had been taken apart, and gone through. It's a dust cup Decade 80 (I...
