Lost In Time: A Population Of People Happily Stuck In The 1950s

Well, ours truly also said this early on in his campaign; "The mobs not so dumb." I guess he would know being in casino's and all. Hoffa's own did not kill him. Collective bargaining is a two way street. Treat employees well, and they don't organize into a union.

Lost In Time: A Population Of People Happily Stuck In The 1950s

Jimmy Hoffa had nothing to do with it. Some folks wish they ever made that kind of money. Middle class incomes created trickle up for the economy. The more they made, the more they spent back in. My Grandfather came from Italy with 2 dollars to his name. He worked his way up to foreman in the...

    Eureka Powerteam Model 1289

The motor is a 2 stage (fan) ball bearing beast. So much power that it sucks the power nozzle down to the carpet on high speed set for rugs. Mine says model 1290, and draws 11 amps, the 1279 draws 9.5. The power nozzle draws 1.8 amps. Check the rating sticker on yours Kiether. I wonder what...

    Eureka Powerteam Model 1289

They are great! Mine has a few minor scratches, and the identical replacement hose as Kiethers does. $10 2 years ago at Salvation army. I touched them up with burgundy metallic Pontiac paint. Original cleaning tools too, and in good shape. The crevice tool was cracked. I found a blue one and...

The Dust Bin On A Canister Wand

Yes, Eureka Europa canisters had it. Possibly the Excalibur also. The Excalibur was made by Volta, and one of the Europa models was an Electrolux Excellio.

    workshop shop vacuum

My "Rigid" (shop vac) that is says St. Louis Mo. Could it be made by Tacony? Or, imported from Taiwan like my Rigid miter saw? Whatever, it is from the 90's and still works great. 2 h.p. and I connect it to my table saw and miter saw and it keeps the dust at bay. Bypass motor too.

    The wife just doesn't understand...

Yes, got an add in the mail yesterday. A black C 1 turbo team for $320 US. Air driven carpet brush for low pile and delicate rugs. The US version of the blue Marin has a headlight. Does the Alize and Brilliant in Europe, etc. still have sprung wheels? The US Brilliant only had them the first...

Miele C3 or Sebo Airbelt E3 or D4

the blue "Marin" does everything the top line model does. It has a head light, that the Kona lacks, and only not the canister side bottom led lights of the top line, and the felt lined tool compartment for $200 less. Not many Miele fans here, but you will like it I'm sure. You are bound...

    Hoover Dirt finder

"So Cool" My mother in law had those dirt finders on her maroon color Hoover upright. Eureka even offered one that used batteries on their high end cylinders. Best of luck finding nice Dimension 1000 series and Spirit cylinder's as well as Celebrity air ride's. They are out there, mostly in...

    Compact C9 vibra groomer

"Eureka Vibragroomer's" have 3 series. The "1" has the aluminum extruded twisty beater brush roll bar. It resembles a large twisted "Churro" in a way for lack of a better description. The beater bars are steel, and the brushes replaceable. The "II" is a steel round brush roll with formed in...

    Are we THERE yet?

Dreams, etc. Eureka began in Detroit. I read they left because of pressure to pay higher wages. Then they were sold anyway. Chrysler is still here, still paying well. Most companies get sold or just vanish. GM's former add agency Campbell Ewald closed early last decade and many of their...

Looking for a good Meatloaf recipe...

"using lean ground beef"; You can use leaner than 80/20 if you add milk or broth, stock or wine, as with meat balls. The liquid makes a softer mix, and eggs make it stiffer. The bread crumbs have to be sataurated well. Eggs have dense protein molecules. That is why the whites have to be...

Engrained in memory for life Always thinking on the Tuesday wether it's the 10th., 11th., 12, 13th, etc. I returned to work the day before from a vacation. There was a Fed Ex stick on my garage door saying my package had been sent. There was no package on my porch, I hadn't ordered anything...

To Hans Craig - Pig Pickin' Cake

Hanz, I too like most monuments. Gettysburg is also full of civil war monuments. It is what we have or have not learned from history that matters. It seems some would prefer it be repeated. The member who posted "the south will rise again" started it. The same member who posted the...

To Hans Craig - Pig Pickin' Cake

"Old Blue laws"? I remember when all stores were closed on Sundays in Pa. when I was a 5 year old. Pa. still had state beer and liquor stores in the 80's. Michigan prohibited the sale of beer and alcohol until noon Sunday before 2012 ish. How about this cake?; Vanilla layer cake with...
