My new Riccar Prima Power Team Full-Size Nozzle R50FSN.4

What model is your meter? I would like to have a meter that can measure inrush current. My Kill-A-Watt, while very useful, doesn't. Joel

    Air-way vacuum cleaners

It's rampant It sickens me to see how many fabled old brand names have been resurrected and put on today's products, many of which are junk and would be a huge embarrassment to the legacy companies. Joel

Considering buying a Lux Legacy - question though

The seller did use crumpled paper He did everything right, box size and all, but the box must've been thrown around. I used pairs of needle-nose pliers to straighten the prongs, one to hold and the other to bend. They're perfectly straight now. The condition of the plug seems to be a...

    See what I scored!

I have an original copy of that Christmas ad In fact it was that ad that caused me to get my AE. The ad made it look so good! I have to say I was a bit disappointed that the real AEs aren't that bright a shade of blue, but the standard blue HT paint looks good. Joel

    See what I scored!

I thought I posted this earlier but I must not have finished it, so I'll try again. This hose was listed on eBay last week. I knew from other posts that it's the correct original hose for my Electrolux AE. Cosmetically it looked excellent with no kinks and no apparent damage to the vinyl...

Considering buying a Lux Legacy - question though

Here are the images It did not come with the dusting/upholstery or crevice tools. If anyone has the correct ones that you would be willing to sell, including the adapter for the dusting/upholstery tool, please contact me at the email address in my profile. I know I don't need the adapter for...

Considering buying a Lux Legacy - question though

It arrove today! Good evening all, it arrove today (watch Support Your Local Sheriff for the use of "arrove." The seller shipped it with the plug facing the bottom of the box, and the plug was mangled. One of the prongs was bent a full 90 degrees...

Last electrolux canister guaranteed to have . . .

Thanks folks! Follow-on: were all of the two-stage motors house-built? When did outsourcing of motors begin? Second follow-on: I read here that late Silverados had a cheaper motor. Were they still made in-house at this time?

Last electrolux canister guaranteed to have . . .

. . . a two-stage motor? I don't care if it's metal or plastic bodied. I did searches on this forum and I must have searched wrong because I didn't find a definitive answer. I'm looking for the last model that had a two-stage motor without a transition to a one-stage during its production...

    My First Royal

Nice find! I love the look, feel, and sound of the metal Royals. Yours may be an economy model but it's easily repairable and it will hold up over time. I have a different model, and it does a great job on my rugs. Joel

Considering buying a Lux Legacy - question though

I didn't buy *that* one, but I did buy one I grabbed a Legacy 7000 C153A when the seller, who offered free shipping, knocked $15 off the BIN price. It's an omen that it's supposed to be here by my birthday! Colors won't match but I don't care. I'm after a solid machine that will work with...

    10 Amp Sharp?

The National Electrical Code is the dictating factor It states that no circuit may be continuously loaded to more than 80% of its ampacity, and 12 amps is 80% of 15 amps. So the 12 amps is a hard limit that the manufacturers have to abide by, considering that there are millions of 15-amp...

Considering buying a Lux Legacy - question though

Thanks! I got a reply before I even posted my final version of the question. You all are the tops! I'm probably going for that Lux Legacy now, based on my newly-acquired information. Joel

Considering buying a Lux Legacy - question though

Will the hose from my C151D Lux Classic plug into Lux Legacy main units? I know the tool end is plastic and different. I have the opportunity to purchase a Lux Legacy main unit, which I may well do if my Lux Classic hose will attach. I will use the tools and accessories I have. It will be a...

What are the annular grooves in this motor's commutator?

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that It makes sense though. Under high magnification it appears the brushes indeed are grooved. I appreciate your reply. Joel

What are the annular grooves in this motor's commutator?

A question on top of a question I'm adding this to the thread because both questions have to do with motor design and construction. I know there are exceptions, but it seems like most vacuum motors today have double ball bearings. Is that because they run at such high speeds compared to...

What are the annular grooves in this motor's commutator?

I've seen other images of Ametek motors that have them. What purpose do they serve? It's hard to tell how deep they are. I have to think they would make the brushes wear unevenly. Clearly they're there for a reason, but I have no idea why. We have so much combined knowledge here that...

I am now the proud owner of all 5 of my grandparents’ Electroluxes!

Congrats! How nice to acquire so many at once, and better yet, you know their history. They're in really nice condition too. I don't see many teal model Ls as clean as yours. Joel

I just became a proud papa, again

Alex and Caligula, don't worry Alex, I didn't mean I would seal the hose inlet, I only meant I would seal the bleed hole temporarily. I have perfect pitch and the sounds of clogged vacuums are very upsetting to me, so I could never stand to run one without air long enough to overheat it. I...
