    Hoover 725 Bag

I'm close to being done with my 725 now that it finally came apart, which brings me to the subject of bags. Is anyone still making bags for this style machine? The one that came on it is pretty tatty (it's an old replacement, anyway). Even better if someone has an extra original they aren't...

    Hoover "Coffee Can" Help

Well, exactly 1 month of soaking in WD-40 finally paid off! Belt pully screw finally broke loose and I was able to remove everything to clean and lubricate. It was really rusted on... I'll be hoovering in no time now!

I think this one nearly made the FedEx man keel over.

Glad everything made it! At least I didn't have to worry about that box getting "misplaced" like the handle to my Hoover 450. ;-)

    Beware...It's The Satan Chair!!!

I think this is a "Green Man" chair, very popular in the Victorian era. If it were in better condition, it would actually be quite valuable. Far more than $666, anyway. The crudely hewn replacement finial is a major defect, however.

    My New Maytag

The owners manual recommended Vaseline, so I applied some before putting it back on. I don't think it had ever been taken off.

    My New Maytag

Just fired it up tonight, works great! You could put out a fire with the waste water pump! I had to fill it with hot water to get the agitator off, it was really stuck. There was all kinds of mineral deposits and scum under it, so I cleaned it all out and it's ready for some bag cleaning now.

    My New Maytag

This weekend was very bountiful in the estate sale department. Not only did I find 3 Rexairs, but this pristine Maytag N2LPS wringer washer from the late 60s. Now I have somewhere to wash dirty vacuum bags without getting in trouble! [this post was last edited: 11/17/2014-09:54]

    Hoover 450 Brush Strips

I will take some later and post them. I had the strips out last night and went to install what I thought were 450 strips that I had in my parts but I think they are for a 700 or similar. The ones on eBay being sold by bmxgary are not 450 strips despite the fact that he has them listed as such...

    Hoover 450 Brush Strips

Does anyone know where I can find a set of Hoover 450 brush roll strips? Mine has approximately 12.5 bristles left. Much appreciated!

    The Hoover 450 Saga

I recently purchased Sean's Hoover 450 (which has been wonderfully cleaned, polished, and serviced by Will). He had intended on listing it on eBay, but I made him an offer he couldn't refuse! Anyway, after the Mini-Meet at Sean's house, he carefully packaged everything up, putting the handle in...

1977 Kirby Classic III Repair - Hard Dirt Found!

I try not to think of the nastiness that I'm touching (and breathing) when cleaning out a machine after aquisition. Somehow the bags are always full, even stuff I buy on eBay. You couldn't take a second to EMPTY it? Ugh.

1977 Kirby Classic III Repair - Hard Dirt Found!

That's a pretty big hunk of metal, they must have entered the fan just at the right moment to slip between the blades and whip around into the bag. Usually one isn't so lucky, and the fan just explodes.

Greetings All from a First Time Poster

If my house had gas pipes for lighting, I would have them checked and put back into use, I love gas lighting. Unfortunately it was a thing of the past by 1941 when my house was built. Most rooms have either 1 or 2 outlets depending on the size.
