Call the doctor, I've got HOOVERitis!

Just to be clear - my Kirbys are *not* up for grabs. I still love them. ;-) I consider my post-war Kirby collection complete, I have all 3 of my favorite models. Now I just need some pre-war Kirbys! Oh, and more Hoovers...

Call the doctor, I've got HOOVERitis!

I did see it. And I should be seeing it even closer in a few days. ;-) I bought it this morning, because even though the bag, agitator, and cord are not original, that's still a steal for a 450. The hood looks a bit nicer than mine, I think I'll switch out a few parts to make mine even nicer...

    Vacuum polishing

Mothers also does wonders on aluminum, using a combination of fine steel wools, and finally a soft rag.

Call the doctor, I've got HOOVERitis!

I never thought the day would come, but I think I may have been unknowingly converted to Hooverism. I expect a gang of angry Kirbys to corner me in the dark recesses of my basement any day now... I've always been a devout Kirby enthusiast, and never paid much attention to other brands. Well...

    Kirby 561 Resto

I have one of his bags and a set of his wheels on my 505 right now. They look pretty close to original.

Looking for a Nice Packard Vacuum Cleaner

Chad, thanks again for the Packard, it will look great displayed next to my car at shows! And another thanks for giving me the opportunity to buy this beautiful Hoover 825. I'll post some Hoover photos in another topic soon!

    Vintage machines as daily drivers

I'm currently using my Kirby 508 as my daily driver, but I occasionally alternate. I'm looking for a Hoover 541 or a 700 at the moment which will be next in rotation. I like keeping my nice machines clean, so I don't use them all for sucking up dirt, but I do run the motors once a month or so.

Looking for a Nice Packard Vacuum Cleaner

Chad - send me an email so we can arrange a time to meet, my email address can be found on my website here: http://edisonrecord.com/contact.html I think you're correct about the black rubber cord being correct for it. If you have a spare, that would be awesome. I'm super excited!

Looking for a Nice Packard Vacuum Cleaner

I also just came across this cool Packard Electric shaver the other day. Looks like it was never used! I wonder what other "Packard" appliances there are out there?

Looking for a Nice Packard Vacuum Cleaner

Wow, Chad! Thank you for your generosity! Whitmore Lake isn't too far, either. Perhaps I can pick the Packard up IN a Packard. ;-)

Looking for a Nice Packard Vacuum Cleaner

Thanks! It's a 23rd Series 1949 Super Deluxe Eight Touring Sedan with overdrive & Electromatic clutch. I usually take something with an automatic transmission to the Woodward dream cruise, sitting in bumper to bumper traffic for hours in the heat is a great way to overheat your clutch (and...

Looking for a Nice Packard Vacuum Cleaner

The one pictured sold on eBay a couple of months ago for just $99, but I wasn't in the market for one then so I didn't even see it. It was a nice one too, with attachments. Oh well...

    GE Handheld found at Goodwill

I have the same machine, but it's branded as a Premier, I have to say I like the GE logo better. Very nice!

My Kingdom for a Black Kirby 505 Belt Lifter...

Thanks for the compliments! No, I highly doubt a Dyson (or any other new vacuum, for that matter) will be running in 70 years! The original owner was still using this 505 up until she died a couple of years ago!

My Kingdom for a Black Kirby 505 Belt Lifter...

I received a package via UPS yesterday afternoon, can anyone guess what was inside? Not only was there a beautiful black belt lifter, but a bonus surprise as well; a 505 manual!! A big thanks to Will again for making my Kirby dreams come true. I have uploaded 12 photos of the machine for...
