For the money they cost new it's a sin they're so noisy.

Brian, this is the model you're looking for the 260C canadian ? It looks worse in the pic than it actually is

    Aerus VS Electrolux

re the Super J in Canada.. yeah that sounds right. I found mine here in town at the Goodwill or SallyAnn but I can never be sure with some things since I'm in a border town it's always quite possible that people bought something in Michigan

    Aerus VS Electrolux

THe beloved old Electroluxes were only sold in the US mainly and different models were manufactured and sold in Canada with a few exceptions I believe.. There were some common elements to the attachments etc and some radically different , the hose connections were also different between the US...

    Aerus VS Electrolux

Gareth I think that's a bit of a stretch. There's a lot more behind the scenes in China than the average tourist will see. What they say and what they actually practice are sometimes totally opposite. For instance I was just reading an article the other day about the prevalance of Hepititis B in...

    Hoover Constellation Model. 828

What I also like about the Connies is that they are relatively lightweight and easy to cart around, the handle doesn't require as much stooping over to grab and most of all they have a pleasant sound. Some of those other vintage Hoovers, like the Slimline and Portable... neat but heavy and...

    Hoover Constellation Model. 828

Connies are the coolest vac imho.. Nothing else grabs non-vac collectors peoples attention more than seeing one of them. Well especially younger people who weren't alive when they were quite common, it's like wow,, a vac that floats LOL

    Aerus VS Electrolux

Aerus is the new name of the old N.American Electrolux Co. It's very confusing but it goes like this. The original Electrolux Co still in existance is a Swedish company that expanded into N.America back in the 1930or so. .(someone else can fill in the proper dates) They basically ran into...

    I Practically Stole This!

They're great vacuums. I've had a couple of them and passed them on to friends after a little cleanup etc.. (non vac collector friends looking for a decent vac) I think the electrolux sidekick works on them if I'm not mistaken as it was a clone with the earlier Kenmore Powermate.

    More new additions

It's the 60's Hotpoint that catches my fancy seconded by the Morphy Richards. I suppose it's because I'm of that age when the sleek contemporary Euro/Scandinavian design appliances were just beginning to make an appearance over here and almost instantly making anything else look somewhat dated...

    Vintage eBay thread #1

Should the back and forth discussion of such posted ebay items be curtailed as well? Otherwise the items posted are going to get buried.. What I'm saying is... you post your link and if for example it's your vac you're selling,, you post everything about it etc etc into that one post.. if...

    Electrolux's Finest- PRE 1980

Had to dig out my Super J and 2100 for comparison and there's definitely a difference there. The J to my ears is still acceptable, the 2100 not so much for a machine that cost what it did new.

    Electrolux's Finest- PRE 1980

I've a factory rebuilt Model G sans power nozzle models as well as a Canadian 88 red and 89 green which are essentially the same other than the color. The G, 88, 89 are all remarkably quiet whereas once they switched to the plasti-body machines like my Super J and AP280, 2100 and System 90, the...
