    Canisters with long hoses?

Thanks for the link, Bill. I didn't see the info on the ebrochure; good to know that it's listed under the Features and Benefits on the webpage. Kevin, that's logical. Good point.

Vacuumland's at its best when people like you, Tom, and Andy share their knowledge. Being economical & health-conscious at the same time is a win-win. Thanks again, Garry.

I apologize to those whom I've patronized with my posts, and I'm sorry for being overly sensitive and making mountains out of mole hills.

    Eureka Vacuums History

Great pics! I noticed that some of the model designations have letter suffixes. Did that indicate an update or alternate iteration as Hoover's model suffixes did (e.g. was there a 1660-A along with the 1660-B)?

    Electrolux Corp./Consolidated Foods Management

It's interesting that at least two Electrolux Corp. executives also held top positions in Consolidated Foods, Inc. That's likely why EC maintained its strong identity in the market and produced some of its best cleaners after being acquired by CF. The new parent company may otherwise have taken...

    Canisters with long hoses?

Thanks, Kevin. One would think that if airflow were not significantly reduced some manufacturers would offer the longer hoses as canister options. Here's one comparison--between Aerus's Centralux and Lux Guardian Platinum from company brochures: Centralux (CVS): 16A @ 120V; 600AW (main...

Trivializing others' queries or comments on this forum fails to encourage participation or mutual respect. I don't understand your patronizing style or your correction of the curator of the Vacuum Cleaner Museum without proof. If you didn't care about accuracy of data of a 60-year-old cleaner...

    Electrolux Canada Canister Attachments?

Thanks to all. I'm glad I didn't bid without asking! The product #s are what made me think they may have been OEM, as they're close to others I've seen for Electrolux products.

I'll take that to mean that you don't know for sure.

    Electrolux Canada Canister Attachments?

Are these attachments, from an eBay listing, genuine Electrolux ones? If so, were they made for the Canadian market? The kit # is identified as either 43592 or 43618 if that helps (it doesn't include literature or a box to indicate which one).

White Mop Wringer Company 1963 news article

Was either Model C.A. motor used in the early Model CB? Looking forward to whenever you're able to post the manual(s)!

    Electrolux Corporation Catalog of Copyrights

Do either of you have evidence that supports 1953, 1954, or 1955 such as literature or a dated ad? What manual would have been copyrighted in 1953?

    Canisters with long hoses?

Good point. I've used a NuTone CVS and was also impressed with its suction. I wonder how the motor ratings compare on average among CVSs, cylinders/tanks, and canisters? So companies may just be trying to reduce costs by making the hoses shorter.

    Eureka Vacuums History

You're welcome! You may also be interested in Eureka floor polishers. Two models I found referenced online were the Model 10 and the Model 20. I don't know if Eureka made carpet shampooers prior to the 1980s with the Eureka branding. There were some produced in the Sanitaire line (Sanitaire...

    Electrolux Corporation Catalog of Copyrights

Ok, thanks. Somewhere I'd read 1954 as the Model E's introduction year. I was just trying to figure out what manual was printed in 1953 that wasn't a revision (according to the entry).

    Canisters with long hoses?

I don't have a recommendation for you, but wanted to make sure you know that longer hoses reduce suction air power. Check this out: http://www.edwardsvacuum.com/asia/newsletters/vacuum_particles/0309/pArticles_files/fun_fact_henry_wycliff.pdf

Great score! Here's the online manual for the budget models (C101K & C101L): http://www.aerushome.com/Warranty/Manual?category=Surface&manual=Lux5000.pdf If yours is an automatic model, C141C or C141E sold through commercial distributors, then you'll need to contact Aerus. If you provide...
