    I wonder if?

Not enough water lift I don't think it would work very well due to the lack of water lift. That is a must have to overcome the network of piping and long hose. Direct air motors are great for pulling dirt then they are directly on the floor. Once you start adding hoses they don't do as well...

    When did Singer...

Their was a model about 6 years ago Singer had the lazer storm "compact upright". I recall is being advertised on tv. It was basically a cordless vac design with a cord on it. Oreck sold the same design for years as a cordless. The design was interesting with a cord but never had the...

    filter queen mdl# 31 ?? help

Surely not the right hose. I have one of these burried in storage. Mine is a straight suction ( no outlet for a power head). I used mine for a bench vac for a while. Sadly filter queen no longer makes any parts in the salmon color. Everything is black now, though you may be able to find...

    Sometimes Sears really comes through

It's a centec nozzle and they are still made Kenmore and Panasonic both used this nozzle on a number of lower line canisters. I have also seen the version with headlight a few times on dirt devil central vacuums. As of last year Panasonic still had a canister available with the standard...

    3 wire Tristar motor

DT they won't work. The new filter queen motors have three wires but the third is for the red overheat light on top of the vacuum. The lower speed is made possible by use of a printed circuit board and resistors.

    3 wire Tristar motor

Yea you can Each brush should be held on with either one screw or two screws and a metal bracket. Just remove the screws and bracket. I recommend using a small flat screwdriver to carefully push the lead terminal out of the brush holder first. Then to move the brushes and inspect. If there...

    3 wire Tristar motor

It's an overheat light not a performance indicator The fourth wire is the lead to an over heat light on too of the vacuum from the thermal switch in the motor. If working properly it would only come on in the event the motor overheated and was shut off by the thermal switch. I have seen these...

    My Numatic James

I love it, it does wonders. I previously used an electrolux tank which did very well but the bags filled so fast. I run James until his bag is about 3/4 full before I change it. Since I primarily clean homes with pets and here in Delaware we have sand everywhere it's not like one bag lasts...

    My Numatic James

kirbylux77 We also have both version of the Harry available here now. I'm thrilled they have finally started to offer a power nozzle on at lease one model. Good to know I can replace mine if he ever goes up. I originally has a sebo power nozzle kit in this unit that I bought years ago. It...

    My Numatic James

I ordered it through a supply campany. I forget which one now. It was over 300 dollars but well worth it. Does your James have the receptacle on the back?

    The new vacs...

I think that kenmore was made by Sanyo If I'm remembering correctly I that that kenmore was a Sanyo produced machine. I had one years ago I got at a yard sale. It was a nice little vacuum. And good auction for the size. It's a bagless unit with a washable filter.

    What's this ???

I have two! Oreck sadly discontinued this model a few years ago and replaced it with some pos that looks like a Bissell digipro. The Dutch tech has always been my favorite oreck machine.

    when storing

Leave belt on Most vacuums such as Kirby stretch the belt further to disengage it. It's best to leave it one while storing because keeping it stretched for a period of time will cause it to stay stretched out and need replacement much sooner.

    Royal Procision 3050

Plastic peice Is a simple bag holder. The bag clips into it that holder seats into the vacuum body. The spring loaded piece is a lock out. It won't allow the door to close all the way without a bag installed. This model was replaced by the current SR30017. Commonly called the S17. It's the...

    Filtration Thoughts

Inside air is dirtier. A central vac wouldn't in any way bring in more dust or poluion because the air in your home is 6 times dirtier than the air outside. This is due to a few different factors. One: our homes have soft surfaces that hold massive amounts of dust an pollution such as bedding...

    Electrolux 2100 Problem (help needed!)

Those valves always go bad. Great vacuum but the whole control valve set up in there is useless. Worked great in the metal tanks. Rather than replace it or I try to repair it I just remove the tube going from the control valve to the switch block. Then it can't shut off. The motor has a...

Electrolux Model CB (Brown) on RI Craigslist

Someone save it If it was closer to me I would save it myself. I hope it finds a good home. Can't stand the thought of such a nice electrolux going to the trash or worst; somewhere it will be abused and ultimately destroyed.
