    Success!

Nice ! Nice "machine"....Pretty much everything back then was done with care and attention paid to aesthetics. I also collect typewriters from the late 1800s and early 1900s..all have intricate hand and machine work. Good luck "vacuuming" with that thing !

    Some of my collection

Nice collection You have quite a few and it looks like you also collect vintage radios and TVs. If you're like most of us, you'll need more room very soon....the collections seem to keep growing.

    The Hurley Thor!

Nice ! You do excellent work...the only other parts I might clean up a little would be the screws, washers, bolts. I run them under a brass wire wheel and they polish very well. If you sell it and I can rob a bank to buy it, I'd be tempted to have it re-plated. It's old enough and rare enough...

    Gear Problems

It seems I have gears that expand over time. Seems impossible but this is the second sweeper that has this problem. I bought a Vital sweeper because the price was right and I wanted to "save" it. The gears do not move freely and it's much more than a grease issue. The bushing are fine..not worn...

    Information on an Apex

very cool I've never seen that one ? It has to be 30s though judging by the grip and overall appearance. Are you selling when done or keeping ? I may be interested. Is the knob a height adjusting knob ? It may be missing a part...not sure.

    For the Webmaster

some people I saw the nasty remarks...there is no need for that. I guess people are sitting at their computer and they feel emboldened or are mad for some reason....who knows. Ignore them !

    Brushes and switch question

It runs ! I've been busy at work but, thanks to all of your input, got it running. The original cord is fine..I may put it back on someday. I removed the original switch and cut the wires too close to the switch because I wanted enough extra wire just in case. I then determined the switch was...
