    Bissell

Thanks MadMan Glad to see the pic....If the starting price comes way down and I win it, I would now be able to replicate the bag and wand...knowing how it should look makes me want it even more. BTW - why are you "mad"...mad about vacuums ?

How to finish an older Hoover

Thank you ! Good advice...I will color the bumper instead of replacing. On my other machine the bumper was gone...I bought a rubber mat at home depot and cut a new one. It's a little thick but looks OK.

How to finish an older Hoover

I posted on another thread that I have 2 575s...on one of mine I just used a "scrubbie" and lightly cleaned it as I read that these did not have a shiny finish when they were new. The one I just bought I will clean up...what should I do to the finish ? Scrubbie again ? I will change the bumper...

Thanks.. As I thought, neither of mine have the original bag. I'll have to look for one and sell the 2 I have which are in very good condition.

    Hoover 575 bag

I just bought a second 575 yesterday (for $5!) and it runs perfectly but has a newer original Hoover bag. My other 575 I believe does not have the original bag. Can someone post a picture of the original bag for that model....thanks

    Finally added to my collection

It's been months since I added to my collection. I've been looking almost daily but haven't seen anything that caught my attention. Finally, I found this on Craigslist... a Pretty Maid toy vacuum made by Marx. It is in excellent condition and has the original instructions and box. It...

    Identify the Vacuum

So, I'm having my morning coffee and watching The Twilight Zone. The episode was "People Are Alike All Over"....it had the typical set design for a spaceship...flashing lights, rods with spiral wires on them, etc. What do I see...a vacuum attached to the side of the space ship. Not sure if they...

    2 New ones

I hit an estate sale and found 2 vacuums..I offered much less than the asking price and it was accepted. One is a "Everbody's Vacuum Cleaner Company" model from 1915 that does not have suction. The other is "Kenney ??" model sold by the A.H. Skeen sales company in Newark, Ohio. It dose have good...

    Cool Kirby find

I brought out my Kirby 517 attachment box and found this in the bottom. I don't remember seeing it before....not sure how old it is ? I know back in the year of that machine being manufactured, phone numbers were listed as "EV1-5555" and were referred to as "Evergreen 1-5555....so this may be...

    replacement wheels for Kirby 505

Sugru Your wheel does not look that bad. I had worse and just molded black sugru on them. Sometimes I put a bolt through the wheel and put it on my drill press..then I can sand the sugru smooth. I'll look to see if I have some wheels for you..I have a 505 that I'm not using or displaying

    eBay selling fees

Charlie and Kenny You are both 100% correct.....eBay has to be holding millions of dollars for a few days and FOR NO REASON but to benefit them. Unfortunately, they are the only place to hold an online auction that gets that much traffic. They can pretty much do what they want.

    eBay selling fees

Not sure if this is the correct forum but... I recently sold an item (not a vacuum) on eBay and was shocked by the seller fees. The item sold for $ 300 plus $ 50 shipping...eBay's fee was $ 48 ! They actually base their fee on the selling price PLUS shipping ! I'm think of selling a vacuum or...

    W T F ???

Art Project Don't steal my idea.....I think I'll collect vacuum dust from every period 1900-1910, 1911-1920, etc. and frame it. List on eBay for $ 10,000. Seriously, I saw an old broken umbrella that was stuck on canvas with roofing tar in an art gallery. It DID sell for $ 8,000. Guess I'm not...
