    You could go with a black corduroy. With Flash it looks gray but it is black. I made a bag for my 305 out of black corduroy.

    You can clearly see the rubber bag clamp cover in the 2C manual that you can download from Kirby. I'm just thankful that the one on my 2C is still soft and pliable.

    Are you planning on rebristling brushrolls and brush strips then NEVER servicing them again? If so then by all means flood those suckers with glue.

    Uh when you cleaned and repacked the bearings did you notice that the front and rear bearings are the same? New Departure 8008 which is now a 87008 bearing.

    The 1C and 2C both take ND 8008 which converts to an 87008 bearing.

    The machine end is for a Model D series, if you have the machine end for a A, B or C Rexair then you can cut off the machine end on the hose and glue the Model B end in. Then it would look like this

    In the late 40s and early 50's Electrolux had a capacitor on the motor to suppress the interference with radio and TV. By the mid 50's they did away with them.

    It's a Bee-Vac Model D, here is what the brushroll should look like. Birtman also used the friction driven brushroll on the Federal Model L. Birtman also made the Federal, the Fedelco, the Energex and later made Kenmore vacuums.

    I have a 1920s Hoover that has a decal on the handle, it's not a sticker. It also has a metal card holder on the handle.

    Kirby is NOT going to give you that information. If it has the safety switch in the light hood it's an early run, yours' doesn't look like it has that as it would have a lock on the side of the light hood.

    poly belt on a koblenz vacuum

    The Koblenz U310 belt is 4" ID and the Eureka Rd belt is 3 3/4" ID. It should work but the poly belt won't stretch as much as the rubber belt.

    bearings in bulk purchase?

    I just went over to my local bearing shop and bought a couple of 87008 (same as ND 8008) bearings for my Kirby 1C and 2C. I've also bought a 1 lb. container of Lubriko grease for repacking bearings. They can also cross reference bearings for you as well.
