I would save the money for the rebuild, instead of paying Another hundred bucks to a repair shop. Or buy a used Kirby at a thrift shop and strip it for parts. You can get used kirbys at goodwill for under 20 bucks. Go to YouTube and search Kirby techdrive removal.
