    Eureka questions?

It seems like the more sense I try to make of Eureka model numbers, the less sense they make. For instance, in the Eureka Automatic range, I found an ad for a machine called the 228-A (7/17/1969) along with one for the 238-D (7/10/1969). Then, it looks like in the 1400 series, there is little...

    General Electric AV-17 questions?

Hi! I'm working out the purchase of a GE AV-17 upright vacuum, and have several questions. 1. How many pieces does the handle disassemble into? 2. How big is the handle (length especially) 3. When restored, would it have a mirrored finish? 4. When was it made? Serial number is AV-17 6577

    Skateboard wheels/Eureka Hose Port upright

Hi! I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck replacing the rear wheels on a hose-port Eureka, with out-of-the box solutions, like model car wheels, skateboard wheels, etc.

    Eureka 260 wheels?

Hi! I'm wondering if anyone has an extra set of rear wheels for a Eureka 260. If I remember correctly, they're also shared with the canister. Also, are there new wheels that would fit? Nick

some more of my colloction at my vac shop

Signs I love your round Eureka and Hoover signs. Have you thought about having replicas made? (I'd be willing to pay around 29.95 for a replica of either, and I'm sure others would also)

    Eureka Replica Bags?

I'm wondering I'm wondering how hard it would be for someone who can sew to make fabric replicas of the vinyl bags, especially since Eureka offered some fabric bags on the 260, and some of the 1970s machines. It seems like a lot of their patterns would look really good in fabric.

    Eureka Replica Bags?

I know there are people who make replacement replica bags for vintage Hoover upright vacuums--is there anyone who makes them for vintage Eureka uprights? (1950s-1980s) Nick

    Eureka 238D/Decal source

The bag The original bag was dark gray with EUREKA running down it in white letters. It was crusty, water damaged, and rusty, with a horrible mold smell. The base has been repainted in a slightly lighter hammertone finish (for durability).

    Eureka 238D/Decal source

I wish I had taken a before picture (the seller may have one). It looked like a building had fallen on it when I got it. I took it to Bremerton Office Machines who redid the motor, sandblasted and painted it, and had new decals made by a company in the Netherlands...

    Commercial Upright question?

Hi! This may seem like a dumb question, but why does it seem like so many commercial upright vacuums are missing their lower cord hook?

    Eureka Model Ranges?

Regional varieties? I'm also thinking that some ranges were regional. I'm basing some of this theory on what I've noticed with typewriters--in the Seattle metro area, of typewriters that came in a choice of red, harvest gold, light blue, and gray, light blue and gray are the colors I'm most...
