Miele S8 marin cord reel problem

Hi there, off the top of my head I believe the cost for a cord reel is about $150-250 installed at the store I work at.

    Pre-1950's Kirby vacuums, anyone?

Just a follow up on that, so it’s actually kind of a mystery vacuum. The metal appears to have been very recently polished, the cloth bag doesn’t have a speck of dust in it which is weird because it’s definitely an older bag, the cord is an aftermarket one but still has a rounded machine in sort...

    Kirby 512 emptor

Thanks for the quick responses everyone, I’m not sure I can just replace the tray as it appears the emptor itself is skinner than the emptor used on a normal 512. I’m also on the lookout for a more original bag if anyone knows a source for one.

    Kirby 512 emptor

Hi everyone, I just won an action for a Kirby 512 that appears to be in decent shape the only thing that kind of stuck out to me is the emptor the bag is aftermarket for sure but the emptor appears as if it’s from an earlier model like a model C. Can anyone confirm if this is correct or if it’s...

Does anybody know the model of this vacuum? Asking for a friend.

It’s a Miele c3 for sure. But more importantly what is going on in those screenshots

Miele or Riccar or something else

I wouldn’t be worried about the Miele power nozzle reliability, having owned one for several years the only issue I had was the common handle release failure. This was a quick repair that took me maybe 15 minutes and the part is only about $20 with shipping. I think the stories of the power head...

Miele or Riccar or something else

Personally I’d choose a Miele over a riccar canister, I’m currently working in a vacuum store that used to sell both lines of canisters but has now dropped the riccar canister line because of how often the circuit boards and handle controls where failing. I’ve got two mieles, a Capricorn and...

    Miele mini turbo tool repair

Hi everyone I just got a new to me Miele Capricorn and unfortunately it looks like the handheld turbo tool got water in it at some point and seized up the bearings. I’ve been able to remove the turbine assembly but I can’t get the brush roll out does anyone know how to remove it. I’ve attached a...

    Central Vacuum Inlets

Congrats on the new purchase, I’m sure you’ll be pleased with it. I’m from Bakersfield the md factory is only 7 minutes from my house so md units are incredibly common here and every one I know that has one loves them. I only know one person here who had a beam and it just failed after three...

    Airway bags

Hello I was wondering if anyone had some airway bags they’d be willing to sell all I’m able to find are the new one ply bags. I wanted the older ones that filter well and have the plastic top. Thank you

    Am I The Only One.....

JO, it’s funny you mention that the numbers of machines in the area could have played a roll in the frequency of their visits. It made me realize that all three of the Electrolux machines that came in where probably from around the early 90s I think they where all ambassadors, this made me...

    Am I The Only One.....

I have to say I quite disagree having owned an Electrolux Olympian, 1205, model L, rainbow e2 silver and just recently acquired an Aerus guardian my Miele monte verde blows them all out of the water. The suction and airflow is much stronger than any of theirs. I’m also confused at the claim...

    Rainbow model D

Thanks so much for the advice I’ve found a local electric motor shop that should have the bearings in stock so now just to tear it down and get the parts. This leads me on to a new question this can use the same hose as the d3 and se models right?

    Rainbow model D

Hello everyone. Today I came across a rainbow model D for a good deal so I ended up picking it up, all it came with was the dolly, basin, motor unit, and a shag rake for $30. So now that I’ve got it I now have to go about giving it the tune up it deserves after being around so long. Although...

Very High Priced Vacuums - The Future?

I wouldn’t be surprised if high priced vacuums continue to survive as they always have. Once you adjust for inflation the high end door to door vacuums have always costed upwards of $1,000 for example my father payed around $500 for a Kirby heritage in 1985 adjusted for inflation that’s $1,200...

    Goodbye rainbow hello riccar

There are several factors that lead to the water needing to be changed that often, first of all we had a large lab shepherd mix at the time who loved to roll around on the carpet which coated it in her fur, second of all our city is very dry which leads to an abundance of fine dust that coats...

    Goodbye rainbow hello riccar

I dumped the water after each room because by the time I’d finish one room it would be way to dirty to do the next and I didn’t want to risk damaging the motor by passing to much dust through it. Also I’m not sure if this is possible but does anyone know if it would be possible to retrofit the...
