    Searching for aftermarket junk

For the wheels, you can put Heritage Wheels onto a Sanitronic if you replace the axle with one from a Heritage. Turn the Kirby upside down and there should be two clips that hold the axle in. Remove the clips by unscrewing them, and you can replace the axle. For the headlight trim, I heard that...

    Calling all the Kirby fanatics

Scott and Fetzer Scott and Fetzer also had a book publishing division at one point. I have a children's book from them that has a picture of a Kirby Tradition in it.

An Electrolux that I’ve wanted for many years...

I don't understand why the salesman would get mad if you're trying to get the woman to buy something more expensive. Wouldn't that give him a larger commission?

    World's First(?) 13" Kirby Tradition

What do you do when you have a Kirby Tradition with a broken safety switch and a Kirby D80 nozzle with blue trim? You make a 13" Kirby Tradition of course!

Canister vacuums are they actually good at deep-cleaning carpets

Royal Royal was sold off to TTI, who discontinued the brand. However, I heard that even before the merger, Royal changed their design to use a louder motor that doesn't require oiling. Personally, if you are in the market for a Royal, I would recommend getting a machine from the 1990s that has...

Numatic Royal Do you know where I can find pictures of the Numatic Royal clone?

What in the world is an Air-Way DirtMaster Model 37?

I recently came into possession of a legendary Air-Way DirtMaster, along with an original disposable bag for the machine. The vacuum itself says that it is a Model 38, but the bag states that it is for a Model 37 "DirtMaster". The DirtMaster Air-WayCharlie showed in thread 26097 was also a...

Did they make a toy rainbow vacuum cleaner?

I don't know of any toy Rainbows, but there was a miniature Rexair made as a salesman's sample.

    Hoover Windtunnel Self Propelled variants

Some of the later blue Windtunnels did not have the clear door in front of the turbo brush holder.

National That National vacuum appears briefly in the end of the most insane vacuum commercial ever made.

Hoover Convertible model U4379 and 1987 Vita vac model 88.

The Vita-Vac is a rebadged Air-Way, made for Vita-Mix, best known for their blenders. They don't really make bags for it anymore, but you can remove the top of the bag in the machine right now, cut a Riccar type F bag in half, stick it inside the Vita-Vac, flatten the bag around the rim of the...

    Vintage Vacuum Bags

I have some Safeway-branded Electrolux bags stuffed away somewhere. It's strange to see a grocery store, of all places, selling vacuum bags.

What direct-air vacuums do you like?

In terms of style, nothing beats the twin motor Air-Way. However, for actual cleaning, I would go with a late 80's to early 90's Royal or a G-series Kirby.

Hoover Senior You would want to look for a Hoover Senior from the UK, which is what the Convertible range was called over there.

Your recommendation for vac to clean 1 wall-to-wall carpet

If you want to get a Kirby, I recommend looking for a G7 Diamond Edition, since it has a unique 2-speed switch that no other Kirby model has.

    Hoover Z

Here's a Hoover Z I found on Facebook Marketplace. The seller claims to ship, but I'm not sure if they will follow through or not. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/687182399133384/

Name the movie this vacuum cleaner was in....

Revelation The Revelation was a version of the Compact sold in stores instead of salesmen. The movie prop may have been based on one of those units. There is a Revelation nameplate on eBay right now if you want to swap it onto your machine.

Comparison to buy Kirby G5 and Ultimate G

Ultimate G The Ultimate G 30 miles away appears to be the Diamond Edition, which has an additional low speed option for delicate rugs. For that reason, I would say that it is the better of the two.
