Surprisingly, the motor looked very clean and actually sounds very healthy, which is great.

1995 Dyson DC01 Dual Cyclonic Vacuum Cleaner

Last Week I won an auction for an Early Dyson DC01 on eBay...They are not hard to find currently, but they are getting rarer now, since Dyson stopped producing spare parts for this model in 2011! The DC01's are a bugger to find in really good condition, luckily, this one is in great shape. When...

Kirby - Researching to buy my first Kirby

I said "personally" meaning it was my opinion... They are too loud, too big, too heavy, clunky, inconvenient... I would take a dirty fan Hoover any day over a Kirby, same performance, easier and more convenient to use.

Made in the USA, does it matter? What is truly built to last?

There was lots of plastic in the 90s but it was still very good quality and usually made at home.

Kirby - Researching to buy my first Kirby

Personally... I don't think Kirby's perform much better than most other uprights. They are not brilliant on pet hair either.

    Fantom fury

I just bought this, early 90s, Dyson DC01. This, along with postage cost me £59, not bad for a very early cersion of the DC01 as well!

    1970 Hoover Junior Dirtsearcher 1354A - Restoration

Portable... Thanks so much, I am really pleased with the results, can be quite tedious. A trick to restoring the bumper is to get a couple of dishwasher tablets in a small bucket of water, perhaps the amount an average kitchen or bathroom sink holds, the less diluted the better. Soak the...

    1970 Hoover Junior Dirtsearcher 1354A - Restoration

John... If you disassemble the motor completely and take the armature out, along with the front bearing, fan and pully, you can hold the armature in one hand and the fan in the other and if you hold the armature tight and then twist the fan one way or the other, it will loosen and the pully...
