something missing from modern vacs - ability to use as a blower

Snow sled. The one pictured is for a kid, but they make adult size ones also. Snow tubes as well, very similar to the water ones, but have a bottom to them. The plastic is a a thick flexible PVC material. The Electrolux can inflate or deflate these in no time.

something missing from modern vacs - ability to use as a blower

Good to know about those other models for a blower. Bagless vacs have their place, but I don't like it. The dirt seems to cling to every piece of plastic inside. The filters are a piece of foam and a thin filter of spun plastic. Cleaning the brush roll of hair completely, required me to...

something missing from modern vacs - ability to use as a blower

I was cleaning my Shark Vac with my Electrolux, ironic. Long story, it was given to my family a few years back. The vac had never been cleaned before and was full of stuff. It was used by wife until she passed. I placed it in a closet until I recently uncovered it. It was pretty dirty and I used...

Super J / Golden J in disguise - factory refurbished

Well, with new bearings and carbon brushes it actually runs. I was concerned since there were loose bearings everywhere, including the fans. The motor runs quieter than my Olympia One, but still has plenty of suction. For now, I'll leave it, and restore it later. I vacuumed the whole downstairs...

Super J / Golden J in disguise - factory refurbished

The blue Olympia One, it was completely done over. The axle holders are made of pot metal, not steel on the metal body canisters. Mine were snapped from rough handling (I think dropped), and I had to fabricate something.

As I took the motor apart, something was rattling. Guess what?

Super J / Golden J in disguise - factory refurbished

Well, I found out why it did not turn on :) Electrolux and water do not mix well. And it is not a Super J motor. Most likely replaced when Electrolux refurbished it. (Electro Motor) I have a some spare brushes and an extra motor for a plastic canister somewhere. Looks like the bearings could use...

    Electrolux hoses

swivel hose .. I noticed recently one of the vendors selling replacement hoses mentioned that most replacement hoses on ebay do not swivel. The ones he was selling do swivel.

Super J / Golden J in disguise - factory refurbished

I was going to use this for parts, but it looks too nice. I love the hammertone finish. You can see the original gold paint in certain areas. Check out the Silverado style handle. The wheels look similar to the refurbished 1205 on the Electrolux poster. (no metal hubcaps) I assume the paint is...

    Convertible LED lamp fail

No fitment issues with the one I posted a pic of. I have one in one of my sewing machines as well as some Electrolux P/N's Bulb fits well and is not loose. Of interest is there is no glass, the entire LED assembly is encased in silicone.

    Convertible LED lamp fail

The ones I got from ebay are shorter in length than the one you bought. It is roughly the same length as the incandescent. An LED replacement bulb for a sewing machine is the ticket.

    Vacuum Hose Repair?

Duct tape is one of the worst tapes ever made. Does not stick well, ages badly. Gaffer's tape is much better. Cloth tape, easy to tear, sticks better, and removes easily. Unfortunately, it is very hard to find in stores. This is the tape they use to hold the wires down at concerts, among other...

Electrolux combination brush - decent aftermarket

Here is the dud that I got my money back on. Color was supposed to be gray. Bristles are actually shorter than the Electrolux and not as soft. I did find one on ebay that the seller responded is very similar to the old Electrolux style with a rubber insert and natural bristles. Very hard to...

Electrolux combination brush - decent aftermarket

Are there any decent generic combination brushes that are close to the original Electrolux. I have noticed .. aftermarket bristles are not as robust Inside piece is not soft rounded, they usually are hard and have a sharp edge to them. Very disappointed with what is available. Both the brush...

    Are cordless vacuums overrated?

Not until Tesla teams up with somebody :)

    The hated spare part

It holds the brush roll on. It goes on in the end. You will see a hole where it fits in. Later PN's simply used a screw instead of this.
