Go easy on the Lemishine- it's citric acid and will eventually eat away at the racks... ask me how I know. We use Cascade Platinum and that usually takes care of any hard water residue. I will run a little Lemishine maybe once a month (if I have any) but otherwise just detergent.

I have never seen such a thing! Cool! It would be pretty useless for us in Michigan too- our main problem in the summer is humidity. Not very often do we have hot, dry days. Usually very warm and humid, so traditional air conditioners are needed. At this point I'm just waiting for all of this...

I would go for the Kirby Sentria out of those choices- It is the most versatile, and will last a lifetime (or several!) if you maintain it. You can buy high-filtration HEPA bags for it, and although the bags are a bit pricy, they hold a lot of dirt. It should be great on pet hair, you can even...

I would also recommend a Sanitaire- commercial quality, absolutely unbeatable carpet cleaning, easy maintenance and cheap repairs. They don't have on board attachments though, so maybe buy a small/cheap canister vac for above floor cleaning.

I've never used them on my Kirbys, but that is exactly what the slot is for- saving up for bags and belts.

Hoover Convertible and Dirt Devil still available. Need to start selling or vacs are headed for craigslist. If anybody within driving distance wanted to make a decent offer on every last vacuum in this house I would be fine with that, plus have several more about 4 hours from here.

Brown/green convertible- It has been spoken for but not officially sold, if the sale falls through you are welcme to it for $25+ shipping, attachment hose included, no attachments though.

Dirt Devil Featherlite- It works fine, not too bad of condition. I have another one at our other house for parts. $15+ shipping, spare motor will be included in the sale, but not shipped for a while.

Yeah it is just yellowed like some plastics yellow over time, for some reason, G3 cords tend to do that. They are usually badly deteriorated, but this one isn't too bad. A couple small areas near the machine have cracked, but the wires are intact and it will be taped well.

Adding to the list a nice Kirby G3- has been thouroughly cleaned and polished, runs great. Good brushroll, could use new drive wheel treads and the Tech drive clicks when in neutral, although it works just fine. Comes with everything shown, (except Faith, my kitty!) including two extra bags.
