How Is The Dirt Devil 500 Different?

As far as I know it is exactly the same machine as the normal red ones, maybe the 500 series was made for a specific retailer or maybe a longer warranty?

    What's your favorite car?

I have a 2004 Prius and love it. Mine has nearly 200,000 miles on it and runs like new. I haven't had a single problem with it in 10 months/20,000 miles. Going to need some exhaust work in the spring though, starting to get a bit noisy. Oil changes every 5000 miles and gas when it needs some...

    What is my birth kirby?

I was born in September of 1992, so G3... Not my favorite Kirby unfortunately. Favorites are the G5 and Sentria II.

    Kirby Question...

Could very well be the cord, I had one on a G4 that looked totally fine but the juice went in one end and didn't come out the other! I personally have never seen a Kirby with a bad motor, they are very reliable.

    LEDs??

This is interesting, we've switched to LED's almost 100%, and found them to be significantly brighter than similar output cfl's. Not to mention the lack of warm up time to reach full brightness. Most are standard soft white, a few are daylight. Two 60w equivalent daylight bulbs in the front...

    Modern Eureka scum...

Actually for what they cost, those aren't horrid vacuums- I picked one out of the trash that had nothing wrong with it, just a bit dirty, and gave it to my Grandma. She needed a really light vacuum and she loves it. Surprisingly powerful, and I didn't think it was terribly loud. Filtration...

    What do you think?

I say $35 or so- it could be as simple as the fan or maybe the power switch, or it could actually be the motor. I used to live about 15 minutes from where it's located!

My small project to restore a Kirby Sentria

Looks like I got the evil twin to yours, mine was free and in perfect mechanical condition aside from needing a new belt (even clean inside and the brush roll is like new!) But must have been stored where some type of cleaning chemicals were stored (came from a daycare/preschool with 4 other...

In need of EmPower 4600 Parts

Let me take a look, I'm almost 100% sure I have the parts you're looking for, if not the wand holders, for sure the front wheels. I have an orange one that's parts only, really beat up and no motor, but if you need any other parts, just ask, I might have them.

    Newly Designed Bissell Powerforce Bagged

Hopefully they will be as good as the older version, they may just be cheap vacuums but I've had and sold MANY over the years. They are actually pretty solid machines, not too heavy or noisy and excellent performance from a Walmart vacuum. I'll guess I've had 20 or 25 pass through and have only...

Going to have to declare a loss.

I have two lower end models, and though they run good, both run hot. No smell or anything to think something is wrong, but lots of heat. One runs better than the other (think the fan is unbalanced on one so it's rather noisy, even though I've taken it out and cleaned every speck of dust out) but...

    I want some vacs...

Where are you in Michigan? I have a G3 you could have for $25 or so. It works fine, I did repair the emptor with some heavy duty plastic epoxy, but it seems to be holding strong. Otherwise it's in pretty good condition. I also have many more vacs I'd give you deals on, just want them gone. You...

    National Drive Electric Week

I drive a 2004 Prius Hybrid and couldn't be happier! It easily gets 45mpg, 50ish if I'm careful! Actually surprisingly quick for having a 1.5 liter engine, step on the gas and it goes! Bought it with 174,000 miles in April and I'm at 186,000 now, the only thing I've done to it is a couple oil...

    Hoover Concertible 32 Belts

No, eureka belts are too loose. You need Hoover 48 belts, should be available at most older hardware stores and any vac shop. Where are you located in Michigan?

    Any Toyota Prius owners here?

Aaaannnnddd..... It's mine! Bought it thursday. Love it so far, and the average mpg is already up to 42.9. Only took $14 to fill the tank! Even though it's a hybrid and has a small engine, this car is quick!

    Any Toyota Prius owners here?

Well, I test drove one yesterday, and I *will* own a Prius. Loved it. I drove a 2004 with 174k miles on it, and to be completely honest it drove like a brand new car. Will definitely take some getting used to, but in a good way. It was a little unnerving the first time I came to a stop light and...

    Any Toyota Prius owners here?

Does anyone here own a Toyota Prius? What are your opinions? I'm thinking of buying one, probably a 2004-2008, but I'm a little hesitant. I've never driven a hybrid of any kind, but I can't get past the gas mileage they are capable of (40-50 mpg+!) I'm currently driving a 2005 Dodge Caravan...

    Microwave ovens

We have a GE downstairs that has been around since I was born (23 years old) that still works fine, although the display is getting hard to see, and we have a modern GE upstairs that heats just fine, but the bottom is literally falling out of it... The plastic lower panel that the turntable...

    Relationships with local vac shops...

We have 3 shops in Jackson, and I've written off two of them. The first is rude and snooty, I've been in the place exactly twice. Once I bought a belt for a Filter Queen power nozzle, only after waiting for him to sell th customer ahead of me a brand new panasonic for over $500, and telling them...
