Miele U1 Maverick, started vibrating and sounded bad, easy fix!

I finally got my Miele about a month ago, got a pretty much unused (still had the original bag in with only a few spoonfuls of dirt in it) U1 Maverick upright (guessing either store display or return) for a cool $50 rather than $450+, and I've been loving it until yesterday. We have 2 cats and a...

    Clorox wipes

I have always just removed the bag and washed it in the bathtub with a little laundry soap and warm water. Rinse it twice and hang up to dry. I wouldn't imagine Clorox wipes would do the job, especially if the bag is dirty.

    warm or cool white

We switched to all LED a couple years ago, we have mostly warm white, 60w equivalent, and Daylight LED in the bathroom and front porch (lights seem brighter) Haven't had one burn out yet so we have been very happy.

    Bleach?

I actually like to use both regular pine Pinesol and a little bleach in very hot water to mop floors. No it will not release a cloud of toxic fumes, my Grandma has done it for years and years. Just add the products to the water, rather than before the water. Just a little bit of bleach is...

I don’t know which one to chose from!

The blue one to the left seems to be the newest, the orange one to the right is a commercial model, likely single speed, and the one in the back with the stick handle is single speed with a foot switch. All the same otherwise. I'm personally not a fan of Oreck vacuums. I just rebuilt one for an...

    1930's Royal 157 Hand Vacuum

Don't waste good microfiber towels polishing aluminum, they will be trashed. Find an old cotton towel and cut it up into rag sized pieces. Use that and then dispose of them after. You will never get the stains out, and it will get all over the inside of your washer.

Best affordable bagless vacuum for small apartment with no pets?

Alrighty then.... Didn't know I was wrong in posting my opinion! I'm not going to apologize though, I've been a member here for far longer than you have and have never before been accused of "trolling"!

Dyson DC07 Animal clutch repair success!

Nice job on the clutch, I've not changed the clutch itself, but I have changed the belt on a dc14, which requires all the same steps as replacing the clutch. Yes it was a major pain, but I was able to do it without the special tool. $27 for a filter?!?! Next time order that off eBay as well, I...

Best affordable bagless vacuum for small apartment with no pets?

I think the Shark you posted would be fine, even though they do have filters they have excellent suction and any I've used have also been very quiet.

Best affordable bagless vacuum for small apartment with no pets?

I'd say either the Bissell Cleanview mentioned above (I've had experience with that version, and it seemed like a solid, good performing machine, and also surprisingly quiet) or a Shark navigator (one of the lower end models, not the $300 powered lift away)

    Minivans

I've always been on top of maintenance almost to the point of being ocd. I've never gone overdue on an oil change and always use the best quality parts I can afford. If I hear a noise or see a drip, smell a smell or anything, it's getting checked out asap. So any problems I had with the van were...

    Minivans

I've owned two Dodge Caravans, a 1987 and a 2005. The 87 was my first car, and it was alright for what it was, a $400 running and driving vehicle. It had plenty of issues, but it was 20 years old and had a lot of miles on it. The 2005 had no excuse. It was a total and complete POS. I bought it...

    Refrigerator LED light bulbs

We have a 17 year old GE refrigerator, and now probably 6 months ago the light burned out for the umpteenth time. I put in a standard daylight LED bulb (one of the cylindrical shaped GE bright sticks) and it's working wonderfully. We've switched to all LED lighting throughout the house and...

    "Up In Smoke"

I must be another odd duck here, I enjoy the smell when it's being smoked. Not the smell pre-smoking, and especially not the smell of stale smoke in someone's house (I have 2 friends whose houses smell awful), and not particularly fond of the taste. I do smoke regularly (but very little) to help...

    Featherlite Help Needed!

Those are so simple, very similar to an elite for opening up. There is 4 clips/tabs on the corners of the hood, one at each corner. I believe the front ones are at the sides of the brushroll housing, the back ones behind the wheels. The hood should then pop off. There is either 2 or 4 screws...

    Bissell Bark Bath--Shampoo Your Dog???

It actually seems like a good idea, however I'd never use their shampoo, it seems like it would be loaded with harsh chemicals. I'm sure some dogs would love it (friends of ours have a black lab/pitbull mix that loves to be vacuumed, if you're vacuuming she will follow you around until she gets...

Got rid of my iron and replaced it with....

Iron? Do what? Nope. I wash clothes and fold them. I don't have much of anything that wrinkles so why bother? I rarely make my bed and don't iron any of my bedding. No, I'm not a slob, I wear clean clothes every day, shower every morning, and wash my sheets weekly. I just have better things to...

    NIB Regina Housekeeper Plus

A few years ago I had two of them and combined parts that weren't broken to make one decent one, and it worked ok for what it was, groomed our thick carpet great, but was super easy to push and did great on flat carpet, so I took it to our church where I was the custodian- it did awesome until I...

Who Thought This Was A Good Idea!?!?!??!?!?!?!?

I had one of those and it did a fantastic job on home carpet, provided it was kept cleaned out. Fairly quiet, lightweight, powerful. As I recall, it did a better job and seemed more solidly built than the Empower. I recently sold it to my Grandpa's church (fairly small church) and I haven't...

    DC25 Post Motor Filter Howl

Every dc25 I've ever used or owned (I've had two and hated them) has done that, it's definitely the seal on the filter. I found if you heat the seal with a hair dryer, then try to push it back into shape, then let it cool down, it seems to help. I think the dc25's are pretty poor vacuums to be...
