Kirby Sentria II vs Miele Canister

Another I don't think was mentioned here was the type of power nozzle used. The 236, (or current version), IMO, is far superior to the smaller one. I owned a Champagne some years ago and it came with the 236. That combination was quite a cleaning machine. I bought the smaller less powerful...

    POD

I have the brown version, (maybe a 602? or 603A? I'll have to look later), from Tom Gasko after a trip to the museum about two years ago. It is one of my favorite vintage vacs. Great brush roll design, really good bag for the time and a powerful motor. Works great on my berber carpet and is...

    Dysonman

Many thanks Ted, (ABCVacPlacentia), for your insightful and calming post. You speak for many of us, "old timers", that never post anymore or have left the VCCC. Prior to the current crop of posters, when this website and it's forerunner were new, it was a fun place where members exchanged...

Your Opinion: Most Powerful Electrolux/Aerus Lux to look for

Ditto the Olympia and Silverado but I would also consider the Super J of the vintage vacs. The current Guardian Platinum is also really incredible.

    Air Way Brushes fix

DaveVac Just out of curiosity, what is the vacuum on the floor to the far right in the 1st picture? Looks like a bagged upright but I can't identify it from the picture. Thanks!

    Hotel vacuums.

Last night in Boston we were at a brand new property. I saw the manager this AM and told him about this thread. He was so interested he had to go look what they had and it turned out to be Karcher. I told him they were great---just keep the bags changed and check the belts about once a year...

    Hotel vacuums.

I work for an airline and spend half of every month, (or thereabouts), in hotel rooms. In Europe they use the Henry type vacuums. I have never seen an upright or power nozzle in any European hotel. They are always cannisters. However, the carpeting is very different from US hotels. It is...

    Electrolux Epic

Jason, The current Guardian Platinum upright has a motor that has a much higher RPM resulting in much improved suction. The design and housing is identical other than that. The hose, tools and carrier are all the same too. It also have a new bag that is made of HEPA material similar to Kirby...

    Vacs for sale

The following vacuums will be going to ebay later this year unless someone here is interested. If interested, contact me through the site email system to discuss price and shipping. I'm not interested in making a fortune, just recovering part of my cost in investments in the vacuums. Please...

    Lux Legacy and Platinum

The Sebo and Miele canisters are very quiet. The Platinum power nozzle sounds like all of it's forerunners making it louder than the machine itself. When the Platinum is set on, "Auto", for the power setting, it is extremely quiet. Lux went through quite a few machines that were kind of loud...

    Lux Legacy and Platinum

I have owned nearly every model of Lux from the E, to now the Platinum Guardian. IMO, the Platinum Guardian is arguably one of the best canisters made. A true cleaning machine with incredible filtration and really, really quiet. (About as loud as the G models.) I do not mind the plastic wands...

Refurbished (etc. etc. etc.) Electrolux -- MODEL E "THE REST OF THE STORY"

Absolutely wonderful find Charles and with great provenance. As Jimmy mentioned, perfect size, weight, power and conversion to take a power nozzle. Just beautiful! It would be nice if Aerus reintroduced a retro model of this for a current, "B", line to compliment the contemporary models...

vacuum collectors convention at the museum

Tom, Tania and I are working out arrangements to be there. It will my first convention at the museum. I think Tania was there before. We had so much fun with you and Donnie when Duane, Tania and I were there in September. I love all the vacuums I brought home. With Ken Wagman there it...

    Calling All Eureka Model-M Owners

Some Pics of my model M Challenger This is my M cleaning ensemble. The vacuum is all original and complete with paperwork. The original owner must have used it gently. I acquired it from the estate of a vacuum collector and it needed just a dust up and belt. The hose is great with no...
