    Questions on cleaning tile/non-carpeted flooring.....

We use mousse and gel in conjunction with the spray. As I said we are older and glad to hair at all. We've done the sheet thing..........PIA. As for going outside--its a bit of a trek and no mirrors. The foot thing has never been a problem since the early 1970s. Worst case scenario, bump up...

    Questions on cleaning tile/non-carpeted flooring.....

Possible but probably not practical. We've been dealing with this for nearly 35 years as a couple. We use way less than the early years. In a few years, I'll be taking the shaved head route! We just built this house and I want to keep it as nice as possible.

    Questions on cleaning tile/non-carpeted flooring.....

I have used BONA but I thought it was for simple maintenance and not heavy cleaning. Maybe I'm using the wrong solution. I'll try the 409 next time and see how it works. I have even thought of covering the tile with a clear coat paint on. It would seal it and make it easy to clean---if that...

    Questions on cleaning tile/non-carpeted flooring.....

I have a couple of questions for the folks here. I know some own their own cleaning businesses so I am hoping to get some helpful information. The first is: my husband and I are of the age group that still uses hairspray. We're lucky to still have hair! We have a tile floor in the master bath...

    My favorite "polished chrome/aluminum" vacs

Alex, The only way I know to find an outer bag is to watch ebay. I have the original outer bag for my Chief but I like the larger capacity, (more airflow), of the one shown on the Chief. I had a lady tailor make it from two Kirby G6 bags as I thought it matched the machine nicely. I used the...

    what do these fans fit?

If it is genuine Hoover, somewhere between the metal vanes there will be a Hoover stamping in block letters.

    My favorite "polished chrome/aluminum" vacs

James, man that Singer is beautiful! That is a piece of art just sitting there. I had the brown hammertone painted model. They were very good vacuums. Your Imperial looks all original. Mine has a replacement bag, cord and bumper. The Deluxe is all original. Your automatic is another stunner...

    My favorite "polished chrome/aluminum" vacs

Edgar, my interest even as a very young man was design driven. Form follows function. Not only were those vacuums very effective for that time frame, they were pleasing to the eye. Some thought actually went into the production and they were built to last a lifetime with "reasonable", care...

    My favorite "polished chrome/aluminum" vacs

I haven't posted pics of my vacuums in a longtime. Two of these, (the Kenmores), I never have shown here. The thread about the Kenmore Imperial, or "bugeye", prompted me to photograph and post today. Thanks to Opelgkarl! They are the Kenmore Imperial, Kenmore Deluxe, Air-Way Chief model 35...

John The housekeeper let me know. I was in San Diego yesterday and my husband was away as well. I check in daily. She said it was very nice and, "The Hoover on the front is like one of the ones in your office". That was a reference to my 29! Thanks for your work. I was an editor at one...

Tom...... Southbound Miss Gulch came tossing newsletters right and left and mine made it! The Christmas edition on St. Valentine's Day! Should that be Happy St. Christmas? Word has it that the chain on her bike broke around Winchester, VA and she had to barter her way into a repair......

    My Hoover 725 Project - Part 1

Jim, Just beautiful and thanks for the info on the trim. Both are just wonderful. I'm on the road at the moment but when I get home I'll post a picture of mine. It came from my friend Tom Gasko. He knew it was something I had been looking for, for a long time. Yours has the original...

    My Hoover 725 Project - Part 1

VacMadMan, BEAUTIFUL 725! I really like the simple, art-deco lines of those coffee can Hoovers. BTW, is that a Kenmore Imperial, (Bugeye), I see in the backround? I have one too so my eyes noticed it right away.

What vacuums have you seen in movies?

"All That Heaven Allows", (1955), Lewyt big wheel green version. Cary Scott's, (Jane Wyman), housekeeper uses one while she is talking with her best gal pal, Sara Warren, (Agnes Moorehead), and she slams the bedroom door so they can talk without the noise. Also, Loretta Young uses a Hoover 28...
