I did another experiment today that I saw on Vaclabs channel.
I put a plastic cup on my hardfloors.
I move my Miele C3 towards the cup and measured the point it grabbed the cup. It was 4.5cm away.
Then I did the same with my MD Central vac..it grabbed the cup 4cm away.
So the Miele won.

That is very true Mike but many falsely believe bagless are better. Sadly due to Sir James there are very few bagged uprights available in the UK now.😭
It is very hush hush at the moment by I have it on very good authority that Dyson are to release their very first bagged upright. Yes that's correct a BAGGED upright. You heard it here first.
It still based on the ball design but it has a soft bag very much like the Riccar Supralite it will...
If the corded Supralite is close to a Kirby in noise that might be a problem if they want to sell them in the EU. 80db is the maximum allowed. The Kirby is 88db.
Sound insulation needed 😁
I've never liked turbo tools not only is the noise annoying but they also rob airflow.
I do agree with a lot you say but I just wish Kirby would make a compact model. I think a lot of people would like to see one.
I agree Patrick but I doubt it will ever happen Kirby are not that kind of company.
Do they actually have an R&D department? I wouldn't have thought they needed one.
Airflow alone will pick up nothing. A desk fan produces lots of airflow but without suction behind it, it will pick up nothing.
In my opinion airflow and suction work together. And suction is more important when using a hose with tools.
So is Johnny correct in saying that airspeed is what you need to clean carpets well? The faster the airspeed through the pile the more dirt will be picked up?
