Even if you could prove beyond doubt that the Kirby could pick up a few more percentages of dirt than other high end cleaners I'd sacrifice that for the ease of use of my central vac and my fabulous Vorwerk VK150 which has become my all time favourite upright. A truly fantastic cleaner 🤩[this...
Very good explanation but...... I expect it to pick up some dirt after the Kirby but the amount was huge! How do you explain that?
My explanation is you need suction to keep the airflow high through the resistance of the carpet.
We aren't going to agree on this subject are we so let's just...
Yes you're correct you can't test the resistance with the carpet on the floor. That is my point. You're tests cannot be truly accurate as you are not able to test in the way the cleaner is actually used.
If you used the Kirby on non porous carpet you would get different results.
Non porous...
I didn't say equal. What I mean is the maximum amount of suction to avoid clamping but to keep the airflow strong through the resistance of the carpet. (Carpet on the floor not on top of a box with a hole in) Putting a piece of carpet on top of a box is not the same as the carpet on the floor...
It's not high suction and low airflow and it's not high airflow and low suction. A balance of airflow and suction will give the best performance.
Airflow picks up the dirt and suction keeps the airflow strong through the resistance of the carpet.
Why do you disapprove of Vaclabs Alex? Has he upset you in some way or do you just disagree with his testing methods?
I think what he does is interesting. He is very much in love with his Kirby's I hope they don't come between him and his wife 😂
I agree with you about Kirby's but I disagree with you about European cars. Americans may have a negative view of European cars but here on this side of the pond we alot of us have the same opinion of American cars. Clunky gas guzzlers 😆
Interesting experiment 😄
The idea of the tandem air was to have a direct air motor as it supposedly cleans carpets better and a clean air motor so you can have the convenience of an onboard hose to use attachments. I can see what they were trying to do but it's just over complicated.
I did use a Riccar Brilliance once and yes I thought it cleaned quite well.
It wouldn't be my choice though. Sebo and Vorwerk would be my choice for uprights.
I would like to try a Riccar Supralite.
Yes bit of a gimmick and over complicated. I wouldn't want to service one!
As you say go for a Kirby if you want maximum airflow and maximum annoyance 😄
My choice would be the Sebo Felix you can pick them up in the UK for £260 what a bargain! 👍
Thank you for correcting the video Nicholas.
Henrydreyfuss I think you are being hyper-critical. To me it's looks an excellent design and I hope it kicks
Dysons ass! :)
