    Nasty vacs in for repair

So, this morning the doorbell rang, and there stood one of our neighbors. He said he had two vacuums that needed fixing. He said one (I'm assuming the Hoover) kicked the pieces out, and the other one (prob the Bissell) made a weird noise. So I lugged them out of his car and brought them in...

What brand and model vacuums do your family members use?

My paternal Grandparents have a Hoover Windtunnel S/P Ultra (green, without turbo brush) and a yellow Eureka Super Lite. My maternal Grandparents & Aunt (who lives with them) have a Hoover Preferred (most used), a non S/P Windtunnel Deluxe, and a Eureka World Vac canister (one of my dream...

Thank you! That must be one of the minor changes in the Heritage model.

    Rare Hoover?

Snatch that up! A rare Elite style machine. Hoover was notorious for reusing names, and TTI still does.

Hoover 1060 Motor Slows Down When Vacuuming Carpet

It is possible either the belt is worn or on backwards. If that doesn't help, maybe new motor brushes would...

    Kirby Heritage Portable Handle?

I was wondering, did the Heritage portable handle look like the one that came with the Tradition or the one that came with the Heritage II? I am wondering because mine looks like the latter, but all the others I've seen look like the former.

    Kirby polishing service

Your best bet would be to buy some Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish and hand polish yourself. It won't get rid of the "liver spots" but it will make it shine. It only takes about 20 minutes for me to polish my Kirby's like that. If you can't find Mother's, look for Turtle Wax Chrome Polish and...

    recent vacuum sightings on TV

In Everybody Loves Raymond... ...I forget which episode, but in Frank and Marie's basement was what appeared to be a Hoover model 29 behind a table.

Does this ever happen to anybody???

Luckily, never happened to me... ...because the nearest vac shop is 40 minutes from my house, making it impossible for me to get there on my own. Don't take it too personally, like I probably would if someone was rude to me.

    Kirby Classic O

You have a beautiful Omega! No, I think all Omegas had the same bag topper, except some were matte finish and others were glossy finish.

    Kirby Classic Omega

To change the belt... First, disconnect the nozzle from the Kirby. Turn the belt lifter until it says "Belt is ON" at the bottom. Turn the nozzle upside down and pull on the front of the rug plate (side under the belt lifter). It is hinged, so it won't come off the whole way. Slightly bend one...

    Hoover U4127 rebuild?

Welcome to Vacuumland! There isn't much you need to look for, as these Convertibles are tough as nails. Yours was one of the first plastic base Convertibles, introduced in 1978 and ran to 1985, if I remember right.

    Electrolux Olympic One

No, that's just any Olympia One. Made between 1978-1982.

    NEWB Kirby Classic III Question

These are inherent... ...to the early Classic III handles. The original (1976-77) run had these, and they were very flimsy. I recommend finding a 1978-79 handle, as they are much better and more comfortable.
