    Eliminating a common Dyson issue

So I stumbled upon the following YouTube video that was produced by an independent vacuum shop. The video shares a common complaint Dyson owners have when it comes to using the tools. Personally, I have returned a Dyson DC41 and a DC65 because I couldn't stand using the hose and tools on either...

Proof That Dysons Are Toxic - But Only In California

Oddly enough, you will see the same warning when you look at Kenmore vacuums on Sears website.

    New Brushroll?

Sidenote - I actually reached out to Miele today to inquire whether or not the brushrolls have changed on the uprights since their introduction and I was told no. The brushrolls have remained the same since the series came out.

comparing wessel werk EBK340 and EBK360

The Volt is good but maybe I got a dud? The EBK 360 definitely cleans better in my opinion.

comparing wessel werk EBK340 and EBK360

I haven't used the 340 but I have the 360 in the form of the white Vacuflo Edge powerhead. It does an exceptional job cleaning all the carpeting and rugs in my house. I've never had a nozzle make the rug stand straight up! I actually think it performs better than the Volt powerhead I use with...

    Suck Factor Over 9000!

Mark, If you build again, definitely consider a central vacuum. It is possible to add one to your house after the fact but I know it's more expensive and the outlet placement can get a little wonky. My parents actually had a MD Silentmaster retrofitted in their home. I'm actually amazed it...

Who would buy a MINT Elite (No, I'm Not Selling one.)

Up until last year our cleaning ladies brought their commercial Hoover Elite upright to vacuum our house. I have to say, it left the nicest vacuum lines on our rugs. They now bring a red commercial Oreck with Endurolife belt. My better half says it looks like our rugs have barely been touched...

An interesting new tool from Wessel Werk

The brush on the bottom reminds me of the one on the bottom of my Dyson stick vac. Really does a good job picking up the fine dust of the hardwood floors. I'm sure if they market that aspect of the tool it will do well for central vac owners.

    Suck Factor Over 9000!

I did purchase the Volt and it works fine with my Hide a Hose outlet but I still think the Vacuflo Edge (Wessel-Werk EBK 360) electric powerhead works better.

    Suck Factor Over 9000!

We upgraded our Dirt Devil Pro Series 990 central vacuum system to a MD Flomaster system after our cleaning ladies burned up the motor on the Dirt Devil. It was a filtered cyclonic unit which from what I understand are prone to failure. I have to say I prefer the closed bag system on the...

WANTED - Aerus Lux Guardian Upright

Hi All, I'm looking for a quality bagged upright vacuum that won't cost a fortune. Back in 2001 I scored a barely used Electrolux Epic 3500 upright for less than $100 and it worked wonderfully for years. I've had my share of bagless uprights and would like to go back to an Aerus. However...

    Canisters with long hoses?

Thanks for the suggestions on a free-standing unit. I think I'll try and stick with a canister as I can imagine a free-standing unit being a bit of an eye sore and not as easily tucked away.

    Canisters with long hoses?

Wow so many replies since I last checked the site. I do love our central vac system at our main residence but was looking for a canister for our beach home which doesn't lend itself to retrofitting a system. The main living areas of the home are all hardwood with carpeted bedrooms. There's a...

    Canisters with long hoses?

Thanks for the link. We have a central vacuum with a 40ft HAH outlet and the suction is incredible. The other 8+ outlets in the house work fine no matter the distance from the main power unit in our garage. It has been my experience that so long as the motor is powerful, there's not a...

    Canisters with long hoses?

Are there any canister vacuums manufactured now that have hoses longer than 6ft and don't have a bulky gas-pump handle? Maybe I'm spoiled by the 9 or 10ft hose with pistol grip that was on my mom's Kenmore Power-Mate growing up but I don't get why great companies like Miele still make expensive...

    Panasonic Jet Flow small canister?

My grandparents had one of those when I was a kid but their model was made by Sanyo. The Sanyo model didn't take bags from what I recall.

    Dyson DC-17 Rehab

I remember when the DC07 came to the US in 2002/2003 I purchased it as soon as it arrived at Best Buy. I was still living at my parents' house and I remember being initially impressed with all of the German Shepard hair it captured. The brushroll on the 07 was a joke compared to our other...

    Oreck Insight vacuum?

Does anyone have any experience with the Oreck Insight upright? It seems very comparable to the Oreck Forever Gold series upright. I had an Oreck XL from the early 2000's that ended up being a real POS. I swore I'd never own another one so I bought a Riccar Supralite which is a really...

    Central Vacuum powerhead - advice

I get your dilemma. Here's my current setup with the central vacuum - *Garage - basic 40ft Vacuflo non-electric hose for the cars and garage floor *Basement - we have a few standard outlets but don't use it down there so no tools *Main Level - 3 standard wall outlets (only used by cleaning...

    central vac hoses

Our system actually came with a 30ft electric hose and the Vacuflo Edge powerhead (Wessel Werk-something). The hose constantly kinks and given the outlet placement upstairs, I'd rather a longer hose. I prefer the grip of a Vacuflo Turbogrip hose rather than the gas pump style that comes with...
