Shark Apex vacuum with Duo Clean

Well 2 months in and I'm on the fence with this machine. I love how much quieter it is than previous Sharks and I must say, no machine has ever cleaned my hardwood floors as well as this Shark. The Duo Clean technology is pretty cool and just picked up some glitter and other Christmas ornament...

Shark Apex vacuum with Duo Clean

Well, curiosity got the best of me so I bought one this morning while running errands. All in all, I'd say it's a nice upgrade to the regular Powered Lift Away. This model claims to have noise suppression technology. While the suction motor sounds the same, when you turn on the brushroll the...

Shark Apex vacuum with Duo Clean

Has anyone picked one of these new machines up? It's the new TOL model that looks identical to the older Powered Lift Aways but now had a Duo Clean head. They've had the stick and Speed versions out for a bit now and those seem to have good reviews but I prefer a full size cleaner considering...

    Vacuums on Flipping Out

Just wondering if any other Flipping Out fans have noticed the number of vacuums Jeff Lewis has gone through in the last ten years or so. So far over the years I've seen - Electrolux Oxygen canister Roomba 530 (a whole episode dedicated to it) Dyson DC 25 (Zoila complained about its weight)...

    Tacony Supralite/Freedom/M500..what are your thoughts?

I had the Riccar TOL version and I will say that it cleaned exceptionally well! Very nice grooming lines in the rugs and carpeting. On Low speed I did occasionally throw it up onto the sectional sofa to do a quick swipe of the dog hair. The long cord was outstanding and I felt more confident...

Crazy to like my Shark Rotator Powered Lift Away?

I really prefer bagged vacuums too! I go out into the garage to empty the Shark. I had a bagless central vac and found it quite nasty to empty. When I had to replace the unit I went with a MD bagged unit like my parents Silentmaster. Its tough to find a bagged upright here that swivels. I...

Crazy to like my Shark Rotator Powered Lift Away?

Me? Crazy? Never :) I typically just use the central vac day to day so the Shark is not much of an issue in the grand scheme of things as the machine is only used every other week.

Crazy to like my Shark Rotator Powered Lift Away?

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who cleans out their vacuums with another vacuum LOL. I actually pull out the Hide a Hose to clean out my Dyson V8 and Neato vacuum.

Tell what you think about these Bissell and Clarke uprights

I had a Bissell Crosswave and wasn't wowed by it. It looks a lot better on the infomercial.

Crazy to like my Shark Rotator Powered Lift Away?

So I've had my Shark Rotator Powered Lift Away XL Capacity for about 1.5 years now. Originally I purchased it to use while waiting for a replacement for my central vac unit. I purchased it at Costco and just figured I'd return it once the new unit was installed. I'm not a fan of bagless...

    Hello! And my new Prolux

Seems like the DC area is pretty much SOL when it comes to Aerus. I used to frequent the Rockville, MD store but they closed years ago. I think there might be one out in Ellicott City, MD but that's a hike from VA for you guys.

    Some neat Hoovers to give/sell

So jealous! I've been looking high and low for a Hoover Celebrity 3.7hp QS canister with Quadraflex powerhead with no luck. There doesn't seem to be a ton of vintage machines in the Washington DC area. The only Celebrity canister I've seen definitely looked 35 years old LOL.

WANTED - Kenmore Power Mate canister

It is indeed though I'm looking for a complete set with hose and power-mate in good condition...hey a guy can dream ;)

WANTED - Kenmore Power Mate canister

I'm looking for one of the final runs of the early 80's non-swivel mount Kenmore Power-Mate canister vacuums. There don't seem to be any in my area and I would prefer one of those final models in off-white or the very last model they made in black and labeled "Heavy Duty". Also potentially...

    Central vacs

My MD central vacuum is significantly quieter than the Dirt Devil Pro Series it replaced. I actually don't think it would be any louder than a canister vacuum if you were to keep it in a ventilated closet/cabinet.

    Central Vac vs Portable Vac

I absolutely love our central vacuum with hide a hose. Like Tom, we have a hybrid system with about 9ish standard wall outlets and a centrally located hide a hose outlet on our main level. Unlike most people, we really don't use the vacpan in our kitchen island as often as I thought we would...

Powerhead Canister without Gas Pump Handle?

Hi All, Are there any powerhead canister vacuums on the market right now that are being sold without a gas pump grip besides the Perfect canister/Aerus classic? I miss the old pistol grip hoses found on Kenmore Power-Mates, Hoover Spirits, etc from the 80's/90s. Even my old 2002 Miele S528...

Today was a great HOOVER day (thrifting)

Nice find! I remember several of my neighbors had Concepts when I was kid in the late 80s and I thought they were so cool. Whenever my mom's Electrolux Olympia was on one of it's many trips to the repair shop she would borrow a Hoover Concept 2. Having used the Electrolux for most of my life...

    Eliminating a common Dyson issue

I typically use my central vac for the hardwood floors and above the floor cleaning jobs but I do find the Shark Rotator Powered Lift Away a little easier to handle than the Dyson when it comes to tools.
