Its actually a wrap sort of thing. I sand down the metal, cover it in a special glue, and put the wrap on it. It takes a few tries to get it right, but it is really cool afterwards.

I have been messing around with painting Kirbys lately, and I made this! It's a Kirby G6 that has been painted. It also has a rebuilt motor, some new trim pieces, and has been professionally cleaned so you won't get any dust or dirt from someone elses home. Any offers are greatly appreciated...

Go to a local motor rebuild place. They can replace the commutator, or if its not that bad, just grind it down so that it is nice and flat and doesnt have the grooves in it. If you dont have a local motor repair place, I know a really good place. If you ship it to me, Ican get a price to rebuild it.

I doubt the heritage 2 and the 505 are packed the same way. 

Dont use a electric sander to wetsand metal! Last time I did it, I electricuted myself. Use a air powered sander, thats what I use now.
