    Hoovers

Thanks, Husky, Rob and Barry. Things came up today, so the "maiden voyage" will be Sunday. I will order new bearings and switch them out. This one came with plastic brush roll ends. I wonder if metal would be better? I did try it out right after assembly and I had it on a concrete floor...

    Hoovers

Well, I did it! I came over to Hoover. I fell for this blue Decade 800 and got it. It was in good shape, very little damage to the decal. I finally finished the cleanup. Laundered the bag, (carefully), wiped down non-electricals and followed the Youtube video for servicing a Decade 80. The...

    Hoover Decade 800

I mean, has anyone got a copy of the User's manual they can share. As in scanning the pages and putting on here to share. I cannot find one anywhere to download.

    More suction power???

Thank you, Rob. I will consider the Bissell. The Commercial Portapower is powerful enough, but it would be great for an even lighter unit. I will take down my GE's and test the power and weight.

    More suction power???

Oh my, So I serviced the Swingette and boy, is that motor huge. I also got a Commercial Portapower to work on. Verdict, I will be using the Portapower because, is it lighter. That was one of my goals, to be able to dust with it. I will have to borrow a Hoover dusting brush from my tilt...

    More suction power???

Surprised... I remembered I had an Sanitaire /Eureka Mighty Mite in the garage and thought I could use it, to carry and do my dusting. I did not remember it was as heavy as it is. I hope the Hoover Portapower is lighter.

    More suction power???

Thank you both. So the Hoover and the Kenmore. I will look into both. Thanks a million!

    More suction power???

Anyone? Does anyone own both or have tried either? I want power and lighter weight...corded and bagged. Something that I can lift and carry while I dust up top. Sort of like a Shark Lift-away, but not a Shark as they are bagless.

    More suction power???

Greetings and Happy New Year! Question, which have you found to have stronger suction? A Hoover Portapower or a GE portable vacuum cleaner?

    I finally succumbed to temptation...

Human, "grading papers"? Am I to understand you are an educator? If so, the two top professions I admire the most are Educators and Nurses. Why Nurses and not Doctors? because I believe Doctors diagnose, but Nurses heal. Hats off, Human.

    I finally succumbed to temptation...

Me too! Mine was a Eureka canister in navy. Cord reel, all the tools, smokey tool cover straight suction hose, wands etc... On closer inspection, found that someone had "engineered" the part between the step pedal and the handle. Horrible fit. I may have posted on here looking for the...

    Goodwill Play Day Again

Will, "only the rich old queens" That was an interesting phrase. Have you had some history with someone that fits that description?

    What fun.

Yes. Hi Antoine! I recognized the Electrolux, but I noticed the Westinghouse attachments. That is why I bought them all. I found a GE older hose the same way. It was listed as Electrolux.

    What fun.

I spotted these listed as Electrolux and immediately recognized the Westinghouse Crevice and dusting brush. Now I am building another set of attachments for the second Westinghouse canister. Yeaaaaaa!

    Any of us buy this????

I could just kick myself.... a couple of decades ago, I saw a Craigslist ad a city south of mine that was for at tan version of the vacuum you got. I saw it when I was just getting interested in collecting. Oh well.
