    Help to identify Electrolux

Standard Model S bag I had a Model S when I was a kid. It wasn't in good shape and ended up being traded in on a new Heritage II. My S had a shake-out reusable bag, like a Model XXX but the rectangular shape. Did the economy models usually come with that bag? The bag cover has an intake tube...

Maytag Vacuum Cleaners made in USA

The Maytag name When I was a kid, Maytag still was a really prestigious name that was legitimately associated with quality and endurance. My great aunt had a very old Maytag wringer attached to a tank. She also had a newer white Maytag automatic washer that had light blue trim about the same...

What happened to the "new" Aerus Upright?

Guardian upright I think the Guardian upright addressed the only drawback of the Discovery/Epic uprights, which was inadequate suction. I love the hose and attachments on this machine. I'm glad they didn't change it beyond improving the filtration and the suction, along with the indicator...

John Pease with the Rainbow AquaMate

John is pure class. Since his house has zero dirt, he helps me out with my own floors when questions arise. Here he is using the new Rainbow shampooer on the upstairs landing. He gave my routine cleaning (with Riccars) an "A". I'm proud! Of course, he's drinking his rosé from Waterford. We are...

Anyone have the new Rainbow Mini Jet yet?

Not yet I'm getting one as soon as the local distributor has them. I'm really excited. I really need something like this for furniture.

    Vintage Electrolux

Be wary I didn't check the listing, but you might want to ask for additional pictures if they aren't included already. The gaskets that seal the bag cover to the fill tube and to the bag collar were made of rubber that dries and then chips off until nothing is left. When that happens, the...

    Pink Electrolux???

It's not factory. The factory didn't do that. It didn't do that under any circumstance. Some private individual ruined that 1205 by doing that. You can see the original blue paint beneath the pink paint where it's scratched.

    Hoover Windtunnel 2/Z700

Hoover Z Did anyone actually like the Hoover Z beyond its being unusual? I thought they were too bulky and heavy and seemed poorly built - way too much play in the moving parts. I never had one at home or used one in a home, so I can't say if it cleaned well or not.

    Got a Hoover Z!

I love how the cat is about to use its laser eyes to disintegrate that Z!  It's like the Death Star!

    Aerus Fresh Era Upright Vacuum

I've used the Lux Lite and the Fresh Era Although they look resemble Orecks because of the configuration and the appearance of the outer bag material, I think Oreck and Simplicity/Riccar lightweights are sturdier and have better fit an finish.  The Lux Lite felt very wobbly and rattly new out...

I want to know what was the first Electrolux model 2100 color?

Colors So, the first Hi-Tech 2100 was sand/jade instead of oyster/blue?  I've never seen one like that - thanks for teaching me something new!  Do you have a photo of one in those colors?  Every Hi-Tech I've seen has had a blue top, and I think the blue was lightened and brightened at some...

    Out of curiosity

I've heard both yes and no. Trebor would know for sure.  Write to him if he doesn't post.   I'm curious as to how many different motors have been used in the various Aerus Electrolux upright models since the Discovery II.  All but a couple early 2000s machines have used exactly the same...

    Simplicity S38 Owner's Manuel

Power nozzle I really do wish that the Simplicity/Riccar full-size power nozzle were quieter. But check out that brush roll! You know that has to clean amazingly.  The same power nozzle on the S36/1700/Moxie/Impeccable comes with a wood brush roll.  One local Simplicity dealer told me that...

What vacuum would you wish for Christmas?

If I have to choose one thing to put in my Santa letter... I want a new Simplicity or Riccar dual-engine central vac for my house. I have a single-motor Deluxe model in my garage and love it so much I want one for my house, even though I certainly don't need it. And, at that, I still don't...

    Black Friday vacuums

What??? Wal-Mart had an Aerus vacuum, and for $99? That would get me into Wal-Mart - what an awesome present that would make for the price!
