    Kirby Avalir 2 Mini Meet

Darn Would love to have gone to that. I like the new Kirby, as far as I can tell from photos. I haven't seen one yet.

    Miele Blizzard CX1

Blizzard I now have a new Blizzard power nozzle model and am really impressed with it so far. I really like Miele, but I was prepared to be disappointed by this bagless model. So far, though, I'm not at all; in fact, I think it's fantastic. It will take more time and use to arrive at more...

To Canister or not to Canister?

The way you've phrased the question... ...eliminates the possibility of comparing vacuums according to their attributes. "...pure theory of vacuuming (sic), not debating differences in agitation or exact air flow or water lift measurements...," doesn't leave anything left to compare except...

    Vacuum my wife will love?

Miele H1 This used to be called the Universal Upright, which name I wish they had kept because it was very descriptive. This doesn't get much attention anymore, but I recommend them all the time and have never known of anyone who didn't love it. If you already have a Miele C3 with the full...

    Aerus/Electrolux Canister Bags

IOTA bags I still have a large supply of U and R IOTA bags. My last C got put into a machine a few months ago. I love how well they filter but obviously can't find them anywhere, even on ebay. They haven't been made for about 20 years and were not well known even when they were being...

    Miele Blizzard CX1

Miele quality I've had somewhere around 20 Mieles in my collection at various times, currently have maybe 10, the oldest of which is a 1200-watt Blue Moon from 2006. I've never had a single component failure on any Miele. I've also never known a Miele to not perform as close to perfectly as...

Rainbow Minijet is kind of fragile

Yup! I've bought at least three new lenses for the that attachment. Luckily they do sell them inexpensively. The tab on the lens breaks easily. However, the attachment is indispensable to me, so I deal with buying a new lens when it happens.

    I love this little powerteam

About its origins This vacuum reminds me of the Sears SPV (Super Powered Vac), which was the first real vacuum I was given as a little kid. Was this originally a Sears product that Oreck branded with some modifications?

    I love this little powerteam

I agree that they probably weren't envisioned to use a power nozzle when they were introduced. However, if the spinning brush can sweep pet hair from a rug, it would make the cleaner a lot more useful. I remember wishing the 3hp Eureka Might Mite from the 80s, which had a lot of suction, had a...

Another reason to love my Rainbow

The Super Mop has been around for at least a couple years. The RainJet set now includes the mop attachment, so the packaging grew some to accommodate it. I use mine a lot. The instructions say it's useful for light dry vacuuming, but I've never tried this, as I doubt I'd ever have absolutely...

    Electrolux Thrift Model

Silly little thing Compared to the heft and features of any other Electrolux, yes, I agree. However, it's incomparable with respect to its place in Electrolux trivia and rarity. I'm so glad a few of them exist in good hands.

Awesome! Glad it's going to the museum!

    How to trash $1200

Housekeepers The issue I have with not allowing a housekeeper to use one of my vacuums (which I don't, for the very reasons exemplified in this thread) is that I don't want a substandard (my standards are very high) vacuum used in my house and blowing dirt into the air. I vacuum myself. If I...

    Eureka question

Awesome! If that Eureka is stock from the factory with that Triple Filter outer bag, that would be at the top of my Eureka wish list! I LOVE the brandywine color, but the higher-filtration outer bag wasn't included with it, its having the perforated matching brandywine outer bag. I never knew...

    Scary Vacuum Cleaners

Colletors' fears of vacuums This is a little bit of drift, but someone (I don't remember who) asked me not too long ago if I was afraid of vacuums as a kid - in fact, she assumed I had been because she had the idea that all vacuum collectors were terrified of vacuums early in life. I never was...

Kirby shampoo system review (pic heavy)

Great job! Looks like the Kirby did a really good job; the carpets look great! I use my Sentria II shampooer fairly often. Both Kirby and the Electrolux/Aerus FloorPro shampooers perform to my approval when I don't need or want to use an extraction system. Very nice thread, thanks for...

In Memory of Our Sebo oracle - Narayan Kundu

I'm sorry I admired him but never knew him personally, and I wish I had had the chance to meet him. I give my sorrows and sympathy to his friends and family and want to take this time to tell all of you who knew him in person that I believe you are fortunate to have had such a smart...

    Ibaisiac's Greatest Hits

Part number 04781271 I was told by the Territory Manager for St. Louis, as well as Andy Weter, that this indeed still exists and is available for order. BTW, its not being available woudl be a deal-breaker for me, as well. They don't advertise it well, and I also had thought it had been...

Thanks for the link. I posted the wrong link. But, since too much time has passed to edit my post, go ahead and read the article on the link. It's very worth reading.
