    Asbestos in vintage vacs??

Curious if anyone knows if the insulation/sound deadening material in the rear end of my Lux Model L would happen to contain asbestos? (See Photos) Or if the wiring in it might? I hadn't given consideration to old vacuums containing asbestos until a few nights ago when I was rewiring the plug on...

    Kirby Nozzle Gasket Adhesive

Hi all, what's the recommended adhesive to use on a Kirby nozzle gasket? Is it rubber cement? I recently acquired this Heritage 2 that needed a new fan & good cleaning & tune up. It's back in action but needs the gasket adhered better.

    So I found a CMS 1000

Nice find! I have one as well. All the same goodies came with mine. Found it at an estate sale a couple years ago. They are a piece of vacuum history. This was the Amway model that used James Dysons original design. He sued Amway and won when they had Bissell produce this without his...

    Electrolux Marquis Motor Fan Assembly

Thanks for the reply Sven. Should I be prying at the seam I have circled? Or the seam to the left of it?

    Electrolux Marquis Motor Fan Assembly

I’ve taken apart my Electrolux Marquis to fully clean and service it. This is the first Lux I’ve taken this far apart. I’ve pulled the motor all the way apart. I went too far and the fan blades are now loose inside the chamber. Is there a way to get to them or have I just ruined it? The fan...

    kenmore handi-clean

Yes I have! We had that exact vac at the company I used to work for. It was there and well used when I started there in 2003. It had recently been replaced by a Hoover RunAbout. One of the rear wheels wouldn't stay on so it wasn't used and was eventually trashed. I agree that it reminds me of a...

More Photos of Phillips Mini Meet It was a great day. I had fun finding treasures along the 100 mile OK/KS yard sale with you all. Special thanks to Phillip for hosting and sharing his impressive collection. A shout out to Sean for my newly acquired 1960's Kenmore canister. Pics of it later to...

Wesley is a cutiepie! He reminds me of my childhood Cocker. Same buff color. A video of him chasing the Connie would be a fun watch.

    Frantz Premier

A few weeks back I posted about a vintage vac coming up at an auction. Well the auction was today & I walked away with this treasure. Turns out it is a Frantz Premier, a rare find these days so I am told & from research. It is around 100 years old. It's kinda rough, but considering it's 100...

Worst trash find I've ever seen

Hey Bobby, I have that exact model. Mine was going to be tossed as well when one of our local vac shops was going out of business. I am sure you already know, but the base plastic is exremely brittle. In fact a couple of the screw posts on mine were broken where the screws had been put back in...
