    1914 Franz Premier

Tom I guess so. Mine is missing the cover for the fan chamber where the attachments connected. I need to create a cap for it. I wasn’t sure what that may have looked like. Now that I’ve seen a photo of it on this post, I can probably fashion a cover for it.

Post your F and Gs here!

Lighted logo I like that too. I don’t have very plush carpet, but I’d guess it should do well. It has a deep shag setting. It definitely leaves some nice carpet lines with its powerful agitation.

    1914 Franz Premier

I have one too! I have this model in my collection as well. Definitely not a machine you see around much these days.

    Bissell 2 Motor Power Upright

I ran across these Bissell bags on EBay. Anyone know what this machine looked like? Own one or have any photos? I don’t recall seeing this one before. It’s called a Bissell 2 Motor Power Upright. I’m just curious as to what it looked like.

    Franz Premear bag

I have a Frantz Premier that looks identical. I haven’t polished mine although I have recently given it some consideration. Mine still has the original bag which is a rarity. Yours is only the 3rd FP I’ve seen in a collection. They are scarce from what I can find out.

    Kirby Micron Magic Bags

I tried the HEPA Micron Magic on my H2 recently as well since I got some with my Avalir I got a few months back. The opening is definitely just a bit too large for the H2 bag adapter. I went back to the paper G3 bags.

One of the Rarest Vacuums in Existence

Speaking of a rare model... Here’s my Frantz Premier. I see it was mentioned above. I was fortunate to find this at an auction a few years ago. Looked like it had been sitting in a barn for decades.

cleaning up your recent vac acquisitions

Any new acquisitions I get are left in the garage until I get to them. As soon as they come home I get rid of any bags and blow out the worst crud with air before storing them. Once I start the cleaning process typically every part gets taken off and washed in Odoban. I scrub them with various...

    Oreck CVR 4000

You’re welcome Kenny! I like seeing the differences between models. It’s interesting yours has a plastic fan if it’s an older model. I’d think they would have started with metal. However mine had been taken apart before, so maybe it was replaced. Not sure.

    Oreck CVR 4000

Hey Kenny! Mine has a metal fan. The motor looks a bit different than yours. Here’s a photo of it as I was taking it apart. Excuse the nastiness. It’s since been thoroughly cleaned up.

    Oreck CVR 4000

Hey all! I got this Oreck last weekend. The motor wasn’t wanting to turn. Took it apart and got it going. Little did I realize I had too much slack in one of the wires and it got caught in the armature. The copper wire from the motor stator busted off. Of course it’s impossible to find a motor...

    Polishing A Kirby

That all makes sense Les. I wasn’t aware of how the manufacturing process may have changed over the years. The way you describe the new “smoky” shine versus the older models mirror shine is a perfect description. I need to use my buffer on my Tradition and Heritage II. I just got so tired of...

    Polishing A Kirby

Conclusion... Thanks for all the input guys. I used multiple different wheels and rouges. I finally got it to a point that my OCD could accept. However it’s not perfect. The conclusion I have come to after talking to other collectors that have had issues polishing newer models & looking at...

Red rouge I do have red rouge. I’ve used that along the way as well.

    Polishing A Kirby

Hey guys! I invested in a bench buffer with a stitched cotton and loose cotton buffing wheel. I am having trouble achieving a mirror shine. I keep having micro scratches left in the finish. I’ve sanded w/ 6 different grits of sandpaper and gotten deeper scratches out. I use black rouge on the...
