Removing an Electrolux Model XXX Motor?

Hey all, it's me again! My next project is to tune up my 1949 Electrolux Model 30, and I'd like to take out the motor, check everything out, and clean the fans to see if it improves suction power. Now, I have taken the motor out of my Model L, and that was pretty simple, but I don't really know...

Hoover Constellation Motor: Help! (Paging John Long)

Welp, looks like I gotta add the Connie to my list of projects!  Haha! I know where to go if I need help with anything! Thanks so much, guys, I'll keep you posted once the servicing begins!

What should i pay for a model 28?

I know you'll find a nice one. I got mine with an old Kenmore and a bunch of pieces/parts for $30. It's in great shape, ran a little rough when I first got it, but a little oil in the top bearing and it runs as quiet as ever. I also swapped out the 4-row brush roll it came with for the roller...

Hoover Constellation Motor: Help! (Paging John Long)

That method sounds like it would work, but it all comes down to my little debate with myself of whether or not I really want to get into fully disassembling the motor. I might tear into it, or see if I can't take it to the shop. I think I'll motivate myself eventually....    I would love to...

Hoover Constellation Motor: Help! (Paging John Long)

I might get lazy and take it into the vac shop to see what Paul can do. I don't want to risk damaging anything, the nut is stuck.

Hoover Constellation Motor: Help! (Paging John Long)

I tried to get the fan off last night when I cleaned it up, I had no luck in removing the nut.   You wouldn't happen to have a hose for one, would you?

Hoover Constellation Motor: Help! (Paging John Long)

Hey all! I recently acquired a beautiful Hoover Constellation model 858, and I'm having a slight problem. When I went to turn it on the last time, it began to emit a sound that no collector wants to ever hear: the screech of a failed bearing. I quickly panicked and shut it off, wondering what...

    Straight Suction Rug Tools..

Even though the idea of the Electrolux flip floor tool is fantastic, I don't care for the floor brush side. It snowplows the dirt like crazy, and always gets covered in dog or cat hair. I do like the rug side, though.

    Straight Suction Rug Tools..

Hoover's rug/floor nozzle works wonderfully. I'm talking about the one that came with the Constellation and Celebrity canisters. The brush strip in the back digs down into the carpet and it picks up a lot of dirt.

    The Whirlpool Imperial Vacuum Cleaner

speaking of old Kenmore uprights, I love my Automatic. It has a really freakin' cool startup sound. (click the link to see it on action!) http://https//www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIs71EsuZco&list=UUU7yPFhMouSBszQWCGDiU6Q

Best vacuum for small apartment without pets?

honestly, I've tried to move as far away from bagless as I possibly can, with only a couple of exceptions. Bagless machines, to me, are a pain in the hind quarters and not worth the time you have to put into them to clean the damn thing after you use it. When I run any of my machines, I want to...

    Wanted: Hoover Constellation HOSE

Hey all! I just bought a very nice Hoover Constellation model 858, and it's missing the hose. I have had absolutely no luck in finding one. Do any of you have an extra one that you'd be willing to part with? I'd kind of like to be able to actually use the Connie!  Please let me know if you've...

    eureka rd belts question

Yeah, the RD belt is pretty much universal on Eurekas as far as I know. As long as your Eureka has a round belt pulley and groove in the brush roll, it is the right one. The Style RD belt is used on Sanitaire machines, and it's even used on my old Wards!

Tested a Kenmore Elite canister today

That sounds Really cool! I might have to keep an eye out for a cheap one sometime. I'd also like to try out the newest Elite upright. That inducer motor design is fascinating. I used to have one of the earlier Progressive canisters, it was a dark blue color and had the Whisper-Belt power head...

Hang on to powerful vacuums law change

weeelllll.... Suction is important, but not crucial. Sure, you can have a vacuum that has a ton of suction, but what good is it if you don't have airflow to move the dirt to the bag? Airflow, agitation, and suction are the 3 key elements to making a good vacuum.

Non motorized "Domestic" brand vacuum Peoria IL

I think that there's 2 bellows, so while one is creating suction, the other is pushing the dirt into the catchbin in the back. Well, that's my interpretation of it, anyways.
