What is your favorite vintage vacuum and your least favorite vacuum?

super-sweeper, I highly doubt that! I would fly off the couch as soon as you turn that thing on! Classic III? Quiet? The only time those 2 words should EVER be used in a sentence together would be if you said, "The Kirby Classic III is the farthest thing from quiet! What are you...

What is your favorite vintage vacuum and your least favorite vacuum?

Favorite and least favorite? My favorite models are the pre-G Series Kirbys, particularly the DS50 and Classic III. I also LOVE the older Electrolux canisters. I have an XXX, E, L, and Ultralux LX from 1989 (same as the Grand Marquise). The Ultralux has more sheer suction and airflow than any...

Best vacuum for small apartment without pets?

At this point, Niclonnic, I personally would have given my mom one of my nicer vacs, perhaps my Electrolux Ultralux LX canister, or my Hoover Convertible U4387. I would never cheap out on anyone, ESPECIALLY my own mother. You, sir, have some convoluted values. If I were her I'd start looking...

Cool Vintage Karcher Power Nozzle Canister Vac

I think that it uses a UV-C lamp on the nozzle to basically blast any pests (dust mites, bed bugs, bacteria, etc) with ultraviolet radiation and then suck them into a HEPA bag. That was the case, anyways, with the Halo vacuum cleaner from several years back. I'm not really sure how it works, to...

    Air-Way Sanitary System Question

Not goodwill but an Idaho Youth Ranch in the old-ish part of Boise. It was in the closed-off part of the Antiques and Collectibles section. I asked the cashier about it, and she was cool enough to check and see if it had a price on it. I will post more pictures and perhaps a video of it...

    Air-Way Sanitary System Question

Seriously?! That would be awesome! Could you send some pictures to my email? (it's on my profile) I will talk to my dad and see if I can send you payment for them. Let me know when you get a quote on shipping.

    Air-Way Sanitary System Question

Hey all! So, yesterday, I struck gold at the local thrift store and found a very lovely Air-Way Sanitary System. I got it for $18, and all it needed was a new cord and some cleaning. The replacement bag that came with it uses Eureka Style F&G bags, and it's powerful enough to fill the bag...

Jet Flo 240 at the KHDRC

I have no clue what sort of motor filter it uses. I don't even think they make that style anymore. Mine didn't come with one, so I stuck a Kenmore filter in it. I don't know if it even has an exhaust filter.    I might get an extension cord to connect a different power head to mine. I used...

Jet Flo 240 at the KHDRC

That play in the neck is a little unusual, but when you take the power head apart, you'll see that they used a flexible hose for suction rather than a fixed port. I guess that was to make up for the fact that the entire swivel moves back and forth about a quarter of an inch in both directions.

Jet Flo 240 at the KHDRC

I can tell you one thing, Panasonic didn't mess around when they built this model. It may look plastic and flimsy, but it's heavier than you'd think. Mine still runs alright, but the PN is dead, so it's kind of a duster on steroids for now. LOL   I didn't have any problems with the belt, it...

Jet Flo 240 at the KHDRC

The floor and rug selector pedal simply turns the PN motor on and off, so it doesn't start up when you turn up the speed. If the selector is set to "Floors", and high speed is selected, the PN's headlight will come on, but not the motor. Once you step on the pedal and switch it to "Rugs", the...

Jet Flo 240 at the KHDRC

OMG You got the famous (or infamous) Panasonic JetFlo 240 with the Dual-Sweep Agitator System! Believe it or not, that shifting that you feel in the neck of the power head is actually a little microswitch that reverses the brush roll when you pull the PN back, and switches it to forward when...

    Modifying an Electrolux Model CB

I will definitely post pics. Do you have pictures of these cords?

    Modifying an Electrolux Model CB

rugsucker, That picture I used is not my machine, but from another member. I want to install that style of connector on my CB, as mine has a different one. I will post a picture of mine as soon as I get back to my dad's.

    Modifying an Electrolux Model CB

Hey all! I am getting a power nozzle for my Electrolux CB soon, and the cord on the PN that I'm getting is a 3-prong outlet-style plug, while the connector on the machine is a 3-pin connector. Is it possible to swap out the 3-pin socket on the vacuum's motor unit for a 3-prong outlet? I've...

    Unknown hand held vacuum

Looks a lot like a Premier Pic-Up/GE AV series or even a Kenmore from the 30's or 40's. Does it even specify where it was made? Neat machine!

    I'm a Retrobrite true believer

JetFlo I remember looking at that exact one on eBay a few weeks ago. Neat machine! I have a JetFlo 240 with the infamous Dual-Sweep power nozzle. The canister is super powerful and quiet, but the PN is dead due to a wiring issue. If I can figure out what wires go where, I might be able to...

Removing an Electrolux Model XXX Motor?

Uh oh I took the bottom plate off of the motor, and I have no idea how it's supposed to go back on. Does it matter which way it's installed?

Removing an Electrolux Model XXX Motor?

I actually got an e-mail from someone (I think it was BikerRay) explaining in detail how to correctly disassemble the Model 30. I will start working on it in the next little while. Thanks for all the help, everyone!

    Ebay Situation

You didn't do anything wrong. There are just certain members on here who like to be inconsiderate and opinionated and don't care what the consequences may be.
