The Hoover-ification of Oreck Has Begun

Dan, I was going to say the same thing, I did not think the classic Oreck's were made in China. I am an Oreck dealer and have heard nothing of this. I think there are many great things to come from Oreck and Hoover, as you said we will have to wait and see.

Help me decide on a new Vacuum cleaner please

A canister would be best suited for your needs. I would highly recommend Riccar or Simplicity for their canisters. Just like other members have posted, the Prima and Wonder are probably some of the best on the market. The higher price paid is well worth the extra value that you get with the...

I used an Oreck XL for the first time!

Being an Oreck dealer,   The biggest thing to remember is what the Oreck was originally designed for and that is the hotel/motel market and flat commercial carpeting. On these types of carpet the Oreck excels and is quite a strong performer. Any carpet thicker than this you will need an XL21...

A very large box arrived on my front porch today.

Matt, that Rainbow is in really great condition! You scored on that one. I would love to have a Rainbow. No bags to change and no bagless dirt cups to empty. Just flush it all down the drain. Now I just have to wait for the right one to come along.

    Bagged VS Bagless

Bagged vacuums actually compact the dirt they pick up. I have one dog and one cat who both shed like crazy. One of my daily drivers is a Hoover Windtunnel (Bagged). Out of all my bagged machines it seems to have the smallest bag. However, one bag will last me almost two months before needing...

    KIRBY AVALIR

I actually like the new Kirby. I am glad they did not do any kind of total re-design. I am one for the tried and true approach and the colors of this are starting to grow on me. When you stop and think about so many colors now a days are so basic like black, white, and gray. Very few...

    My DC41 MK2. I must be mad!

It is very true that not all products need advertising, however one must consider that the iPhone like Dyson, already have a loyal customer following. Plus with the internet one can do some quick research to see if and when a new product will be coming out. People were anticipating the release...

    My "new" Dc16

This is the thing I give Dyson credit for, they make really good handheld vacuums. Sure the charge may not be the longest, but for what you pay for you get a pretty decent handheld. I have one at work at the desk where we triage incoming vacuums. Most of them come in full of dirt and debris and...

Has anyone sued Dyson for false advertising?

You are constantly putting you interjections into threads about Dyson and like sebo_fan said, it is extremely annoying. Face up to it that there are members on here who have different feelings to Dyson other than your own. People want to knock down other members for there frequent posts about...

    My Current Vacuums

You still have to get replacement filters even for a Dyson. What Dyson does not tell you is that overtime, washing the filter will cause dirt to become ingrained into the filter. Over time this dirt will continue to build up. Every bagless vacuum whether it be a Rainbow, Filter Queen or Dyson...

Has anyone sued Dyson for false advertising?

dysonb0y The plastics on the new Dyson's are not all that better. I work in a repair shop and the amount of newer Dyson's is ridiculous.  The biggest thing to break is the spine that goes from the handle down to the ball. Also, I have sold more Simplicity's over Dyson's, because even the new...

    My Extensive Collection Part 6

Dan could you let me know how well these preform and what you general opinion is about them? I am looking at buying one, but I would like to see some honest reviews first before plunging and buying one.

    that ugly keeler thread

I read the truck mount thread, and wholly cow that man can BRAG! Every post of his, "I have been in the business for 40 years", and so on. Even on that thread he will not except criticism.

    My DC41 MK2. I must be mad!

You know I am just trying to state how business works and that is fine that you "do not care", I could care less how Dyson market their product I was just pointing out how their commercials look to me and the average customer. This thread has been nothing but arguing and bickering and it is just...

    My DC41 MK2. I must be mad!

Without marketing you do not have business. Like Alex mentioned if it was not for the infomercials, there would be no Oreck. Oreck truly did contradict themselves. You can not just make a product and put it out there to be sold. You can try and might be successful. In a sense yes Dyson have...

    My DC41 MK2. I must be mad!

Alex, that is just what Dyson does. He wants you to buy his latest and greatest so he will of course contradict himself and without saying it, make his old machines look terrible. He has done this with every model of Dyson that he has come out with. Just like how he claims his cyclone system is...

    My DC41 MK2. I must be mad!

Can we all just let someone enjoy their new vacuum? Oli, if I may call you that, started this thread to talk about his new Dyson, and describe his amazement with it. Everyone here on this forum is going to have likes and dislikes about certain brands and machines. I see this in other threads...

What vacuums do you HATE to work on...

Alex Believe me, you do not want to know what it takes to get into a ball model Dyson. They are a pain in the you know what. Dyson's are the one vacuum I hate to work on. Way to complicated to get to certain components.
