    Kirby G5 Lower cord hook

No one I know wants to hear my vacuum cleaner stories so of course I have to post it here! Silly thing really -- I found a Kirby G5 at a Thrift yesterday for $19.75. Couldn't resist, even though I already have one in my collection. The only thing about it was the lower cord wrap hook was...

    Here's another water filtration vac

I see these at Thrift Stores a lot, usually missing their accessories (and a lot of times hoses). I was originally curious about them but a quick once-over and I moved right along...

    Mitsubishi Vacuum Bag availability?

Thanks for the links and advice! It looks like MP-3 is the bag type I need. Now I just need to see if that vacuum is still at the Thrift store when I go back on Saturday. ;)

    Mitsubishi Vacuum Bag availability?

I keep seeing a really cool looking Mitsubishi Vacuum at the local thrift store. It's a canister model with pretty much no English writing on it. I checked and the voltage it supports is 100V so I'm good for using it here. The problem: I don't see any easy way to get bags for it. The model...

    Vita-Vac for Your Health!

I've been wanting one of these for awhile now. They are not easy to come by. Someone had a nice looking one on eBay a few weeks ago but he pulled the auction after only a day because he decided to keep it. :(

    Tristar CXL

Thanks for the responses! I realize that the "hose pigtail" is not actually male to male as I thought (based on the picture from the Tristar Website). The thing is, I can't get the "female" end (the one that goes to the hose) to pull out! I see why maybe it is already stretched. I have tried...

    Tristar CXL

I've been eying a Tristar CXL at the local Thrift for over a month and half now. They wanted $120 for it and compared to some of the other vacuum deals, that seemed high. Even the 50% off discount that occurred pretty much every weekend since its March 26th debut seemed high to me for it (!)...

    Collection pics

Wow... ..that's vacuum cleaner porn if I've ever seen it! NICE!!

But...but...the bags are FREE for life!!! Pay only $12.95 "S&P" for 12 bags each time. LOL

    Grooming the cat...

Agreed. If I just touch one of my vacuums, my two cats bolt for safety. Although one of them seems to be getting used to it. He'll sit and watch for a little while--then head for the hills.

some people need to learn to do things right

They used it to vacuum the underside of their couch, apparently! :P

    Hoover Constellation (New) Handle Grip

I bought a Hoover Constellation about a year ago from a local thrift. It did not come with the attachments or the wand or the turbo floor nozzle. It was $30 and a beautiful looking machine -- so I bought it anyway. I've tried putting various sized attachments into the end of the hose with...

Ye ole typical Dyson clutch problem...

Thanks, everyone, for the responses. I think I like Vacuumfreeeke's advice. Paraphrased "If it's not broken enough, don't fix it." It's not like it's my only vacuum. I actually have 11 at the moment (LOL). Gotta love Thrift Stores!

Ye ole typical Dyson clutch problem...

One thing I should note is I stated "ratchet noise" because that was the catch phrase everyone was using when I searched for "Dyson noisy." Honestly the noise is not "that" loud. It is just like a piece of plastic is rubbing against another piece of plastic. The impression I get is that the...

Ye ole typical Dyson clutch problem...

...or is it? I found a Dyson DC14 a few months ago for $10 at a local thrift. When I tried it out I heard the ratchet noise. Also noticed the hose was torn near the top (the part that goes into the handle). I finally borrowed a pair of wire cutters this evening and managed to cut away the...

Why oh why did I have to walk into Big Lots after work today?

I saw some refurbished Oreck vacuums for $99 a few weeks ago there. Already owning two Orecks made it easy (somewhat) to leave empty handed. ;)

    what's on your wish list?

Oh how I'm itching for a Vita-Vac or an Air-Way! I see them on the bay but they're always missing the hose and attachments. I'd like to use mine (although staring at one without using it is still tempting -- they're gorgeous!)

I made a rich haul Friday

I love the Airway too. I had never heard of them until I saw your pic -- and now I want one. I had no idea they started in my hometown of Toledo, OH!

    Emptying a Rainbow Vacuum

This is probably a dumb question, but here goes -- where do you guys empty your Rainbow vacuum? I purchased one a few months ago (from a Thrift Store) and haven't used it yet, simply because I don't know where to empty it. I am guessing it's going to pick up a lot of cat hair, kitty litter...
