Why Does Dyson Credit Himself As First Bagless Inventor?

@jake1234 The aforementioned for runners of the bag-less and bagged vacuums were sold mostly door to door. That was well before television or the internet. Word of mouth sold vacuums as well as print advertisements got the prospective buyers attention. Or were sold in appliance stores where you...

eBay Auction: Kirby 511 Tool Cabinet

During the war effort. Metal items were being melted down to produce war materials. One can only imagine how many unused vacuums as well as other appliances and items were lost.

The very first bag less / Water trap portable vacuum ?

I do believe I have seen that as well. I'm not a Hoover expert. I am a died in the wool Kirby man and don't know every thing about that as well. Just well versed with the Kirby.

My Opinions On The New Rug Doctor

@toilvac Not sure what the situation was. I wasn't there when the work was done. How ever I'm in the commercial cleaning industry and have done some reading on truck mount extraction. Possible causes were breaks in the vacuum hose and there for loosing suction/air flow or the hose was not...

The very first bag less / Water trap portable vacuum ?

Earlier hoover models used a pan converter from what I have seen in posted owners manuals. I believe back in the 20's if not even the later teens.

The very first bag less / Water trap portable vacuum ?

Ah. He needs to check his facts. Upright vacuums that can be converted to above floor cleaning have been around long before 1950.

    Poor Poor Rescued Kirby

Don't be to surprised. A Kirby can ingest items that a domestic dirty air vacuum wasn't designed for. I know I have done it. Also heard stories from the Kirby repairmen about the things that a Kirby vacuum has ingested. The best one was about the young boys that used their mom's Kirby as a mud...

The very first bag less / Water trap portable vacuum ?

I would like to know who wrote this history. If you scroll down you will see the claim is that in 1950 the first convertible line of upright vacuums were introduced. Kirby had been doing this with the Sanitation system as well as Hoover also had converters long before this. As well as Eureka...

    Interesting Beam "cart" central vacuum....

It definitely has it's place. Some of the offices we clean are next to impossible to vacuum with an up right or even a back pack vacuum. Just not enough room to move around. In a church is the ideal place with all the pews. Be it carpeted or hard floors. Cleaning under pews is a bear of a job.

    The NEW Museum of Vacuums

Congratulations. I hope you do well. We are about to loose another repair shop if he hasn't already closed as he talked about last fall. Ready to retire is one reason.

    Royal

It is to bad the Kirby jumped on Royal for copying Kirby's hose adapter. Hoover and Eureka shared the same pan type hose converter. I for one like the ability remove the floor nozzle to use the hose. Fewer things to get hung up on. The down side. The older Kirby's will tip over.

My Opinions On The New Rug Doctor

If you chose to go to a service with a truck mount extractor be sure they know what they are doing. I have seen one disaster and heard of another. Both where people I cleaned carpet for one with the Original Rug doctor of the 80's. The "commercial carpet cleaners" left so much water in the...

    Bye Bye Royal metal vacuums

Well built vacuums like the Royal and or Kirby are a thing of the past in the commercial market. With all the clean air standards manufacturers have their focus on hepa filtration. Sound levels and on board tools are a big thing as well as back pac vacuums. In addition manufactures don't want...

My Opinions On The New Rug Doctor

I preferred their original rentals. The wand and tank design. Those machines were very good for the day. Far better than the Rinse and vac rental of the day.

Why Does Dyson Credit Himself As First Bagless Inventor?

Actually it was James Kirby that had the original Idea of a bag less or water trap vacuum even before Rainbow. James Kirby decided it would be to much hassle for the consumer to want to deal with it.
